Gaiz dose aren’t even USABO questions.

@greenbat23 not arrested, but yes, its not the best idea. At least, if you talk about them, make a private chat to discuss the questions from the exam. I for one, thought I did well.

I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t find this question

Which of the following is not a nucleotide?
A. Adenine
B. Thymine
C. Guanine
D. Cytosine
E. Fatty Acidsat

at any stage of the USABO. Just sayin.

So there are multiple true/false choice questions… like circle ALL questions? I hate those.

Did everyone take it yet? how did you think it was?
Hopefully semis will be just as easy ^^

@biofun same if anyone has those!
Btw how do you plan on prepping for semis?

:-h

I thought it was kind of hard…

By next week, someone should post a link to a PDF of the open exam.

Hey guys, my teacher forgot her password to access the 2013 semifinal exam, so i was wondering if anyone had a copy and could send it to me. Thanks!

of the exam, not the password, that is :D

Did you guys also think it was kinda hard?

What was the highest score on the USABO Open Exam last year

32 I believe

Are You sure? 32/50? That seems low for a high score. There has to be a higher score, don’t you think?

yeah 32 seems a little low

highest was 42, not 32

i thought this year’s was harder than last year’s. anybody else have thoughts on it? What do you guys think the cutoff will be?

-gulp-

I didn’t think it was all that hard. It was more tricky than anything but I think the content was manageable–no ridiculous questions that no one knows the answer to. I also think they did a solid job with making the new question format require some critical thinking, which will probably lower the average score. The cutoff will probably be around 23-26 if I had to guess. Can we talk about questions, and does anyone know when the scores/exam pdf will be posted?
