This is the official ACT rant thread. I,like most of you, got my scores back today and using common sense you can i'm NOT happy. I prepped since JUNE for this date and almost everything I prepped with was completely inaccurate in difficulty compared to the October date. Yesterday I took my VERY first SAT practice test. I got a 680 on the CR(mostly vocab ones, had I not missed them~740), 570 on the math(Meh), and about a 640 on the writing(12 on essay would be 680.) So using that data my score is a 1860-1900 which is about a 28-29 on the act. My real score wasn't even close to this...***? I'll the SAT in December but I'm screwed at one of my top choices since that was their last date.

i’m still registered if it makes you feel better

^^ I hope you get the scores you want. I hope the act goes bankrupt

I’m so mad right now lol.

Yep, I got the same exact score (31) three times now. The only positive thing is that my superscore is a 33.
This time, i was .25 away from a 32 Composite.
AGhhhhhh

Lol I wish I knew that feeling. I’m gonna try my luck on the SAT. Signing up for the December date ASAP. I had the June and October dates, which were more diffcult than normal from CC opinions.

I started at a 27 and got to a 34…don’t freak out

It’s very hard not to. I’ll take the SAT and get it over with. 1310 CR+M>24

lol phillies, how is you saying “I went from 27-34” supposed to help? Sounds like bragging to me…but, hey, nice scores.

Cheers

can i rant about NOT getting the scores??

ugh…i applied to an ED and 1 EA and now i will probably get deferred coz of late frigging scores!! this is just great!!! ugh… incompetence at its best -_-

pinkdich, my kid walked out of ACT about frozen and found it a lot harder than the SAT to take. He ended up doing decently but I saw a lot of other talk about hard the October ACT was and given how my kid typically waltzes out of standardized testings, I knew this ACT had to be hard when he was shell shocked.

I guess it partly is, redrumm…but I’m also trying to tell everyone not to freak out because they have time to raise their scores…understand that I sounded arrogant

My d’s composite dropped three points from her September test. She went down in every area except Science which stayed the same (her lowest score in September). No change in her prep for second test - very disheartening.

phillies, for the record, i saw your note as an encouragement, not boasting. However, for those reeling over the results, i can understand how it could be misconstrued.

I got the stupid "We’re sorry. We know you are anxious to see your scores, but they cannot be viewed at this time.

We have received and processed your answer sheet, but there are still some quality assurance steps to complete before your scores can be reported. This includes resolving situations such as incomplete test form information on the answer sheet or test administration questions.

We will add scores each week as these situations are resolved, usually each Wednesday and Friday. Our goal is to report all scores within 8 weeks after the test date.ACT will notify you by email when your score report is ready." message. Like wth doses that even mean? Everyone who took it in Louisville is getting the same message.

@diceman, where did you get that message? in the email? or on the act site itself?

when i go to my account on the ACT website, it says “registered”. after clicking the “when will scores be ready” link, all i get is

“ACT will notify you by email when your score report is ready.
After you test, you can check to see if your scores are available online. Multiple-choice scores from this test date will be first posted online beginning November 12 through December 30, 2013”

@EarlyAction95,
I too get the same response and mine still says ‘registered’. This does make me mad!

I’M STILL REGISTERED!!! D: D: D: I’m going to die from the anticipation/dread. And if I don’t get the score I want after all this agonizing waiting, oh lawdy, someone or something is going to die.

@EarlyAction95 I got it after I clicked on “view scores” and typed in my password. My status is tested.

@diceman- did any of your friends get their scores? I didn’t get mine either…same message. I wonder if it is because of the security breach?

I am angry as well and thinking about calling the ACT company.

My scores:
36 english
36 reading
36 science
but…35 math…

35 MATH? I don’t think so. There is just no way.
800 on sat math, 800 on sat 2 math, USAMO qualifying score. 35 math? I’m sorry but that’s ■■■■■■■■.

2 things that anger me about the ACT
- I forgot my calculator and they wouldn’t even let me borrow one. I had to take it without a calculator which hurt my timing.
- There is something fishy about this curve. The test was slightly harder (if that word even applies to the ACT) than the september test, but the curve doesn’t even reflect that.
