oh ok thanks. but im still celebrating though lol

That makes a lot more sense. Anyhow, acceptances are definitely based on more than stats. I go to a private school, which explains my lower gpa and I've taken the hardest class load. Also, essays probably play at least some role in the decisions. I do have to say though that UC admissions can be really random. I mentioned this before, but I know people who were rejected by UCSD that got into Cornell and Dartmouth.

Thanks Icarus for the congratulations.

Wait for Cal's admissions...students last year from my school who got into UCLA were rejected from Cal and those accepted into Cal were rejected by UCLA...not sure about a definite relationship, but wait and see what happens.

Why don't ya'll start using the following format-->>
okay, i'll be the first...!

Decision: Accepted

Stats:

* SAT: 1410
* SAT IIs: 750writing, 800mathIIc, 720ushistory
* GPA: 4.5 UC
* Rank: 11/720ish
* Other stats: Not really

Subjective:

* Essays: Pretty good I'd say
* Hook (if any): Professional video productions company

Location/Person:

* State or Country: CaLiFoRniA
* School Type: Public
* Ethnicity: Indian
* Gender: Male
* major strength/weakness: Weakness...low SAT1 score; strengths... good SAT2 scores
* why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: ELC, Gpa/Rank, SAT2, Essays

Other Factors: Probably not

That happened at my school too!

Can anyone justify this to me. 1330 out of state gets in but i get rejected, not even waitlisted or anything. I go to one of the top schools in the state. Jesus Christ, maybe my mom needs to be a crackwhore or something...

How the hell did this happen?

Accepted
SAT: 1320
SAT II: 750WR/650LIT/600IC
UC GPA: 4.1
Strong ECs
California resident
English major

Yeah, some of the stats of admitted students I just saw were ridiculously low. UCLA claims they don't have affirmitive action, but they obviously do. Screw that.

Stats: Accepted

SAT: 1440

SAT IIs: 780writing, 700 mathIIc, 750 Chinese

GPA: 3.8 UC

Rank: 75/345

Subjective:

Essays: really strong

Hook (if any): 1st generation

Location/Person:

State or Country: california

School Type: Public

Ethnicity: asian

Gender: female

major strength/weakness: weakness - low uc gpa/class rank

why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: great ECs + leadership

Don't assume URM status by low scores - I don't think the adcom members even see the race box of the app, and unless it is mentioned in the essay...

::edit::
weird... there was a post by EG here a minute ago that i was replying to haha

c'mon i'm a white, upper middle class kid, don't even say that didnt play a role in this. i have no first generation status, we speak english in my family, and i'm white aka i'm screwed

Yeah...where is kfc4u? Got to drag him here.

Yeah, low SAT score (*1270) for me...but I had strong ECs so it's not that I got in because I was Asian or anything (I'm Chinese and that definitely doesn't help you :) )

And I'm middle class too.

Parrrrrty!

Oh, I deleted that post...it was pointless. Sorry Icarus.
