Nice stats coffeebear, good luck with Cal and UCLA.

"GPA:I'm not sure Cuz I got a lot of D's "

Are you serious?

I didn't know my real gpa until now.

I got 3 D's and 4 C's. :(

Thanks! I really hope so... esp. for LA, Berk, and USC (business)

ouch... at least ya got R =)

"I got 3 D's and 4 C's."

In which semester? At least you have a high overall GPA. 3.33 is good for 3 D's and 4 C's.

the d's you have to retake i think.

I got my first D in 2002 fall. It was an ESL class.
And I got D's for biol and philosophy in 04 sping.
2 C's for 2 organic chem classes, another 2c's for american history and political science.

:(

I'm gonna be so glad when our GPA's get washed away. Start all over. I wonder how different the classes will be? Is upper division supposed to be harder?

I think grad schools look at your grades from cc.

wow congratulation to all who got in...

Hey coffeebear:
"Hey ya'll! I'm considered as a "semi-newbie".... been following the thread for quite sometime now... anyway...my stats,

Major: Economics
GPA: 3.70
Applied to: UCR, UCI, UCSD, UCLA, UCB, USC
Admission Status to only UCR: Admitted
IGETC certified: Yes, by Fall 2005"

Your stats looks like mine, I applied to the exact same schools that you did and with a 3.69 :D what a coincident!

ShirleyxY, with D and C, even if you do have A and B, how do you have a 3.33? I don't get it... could you please explain?

with D and C, even if you do have A and B, how do you have a 3.33? I don't get it... could you please explain?

I got A's in many 5-unit and 4 unit courses, such as calculus, general chem, and english. Plus, I retook the courses I got D's. I think I have no hope at all, u know, 3D's and 4C's in a CC is really really sucks. :( I had to spend 1 more year in cc to rebuild my gpa. UCR is good for me, but all I want is UCI. I hope there's miracle again.

eh, don't worry about it. I think you'll get into UCI and UCSB (if u applied there)

congrats to everyone that got in. i dont know anything about the uc's but at least you know you have the option to go elsewhere.

Did any of you guys who got into UCR get merit scholarships as well? And if so, what was your package like?

"Did any of you guys who got into UCR get merit scholarships as well? And if so, what was your package like?"

I got one. 7k. It'll pay for first year tuition.

"GPA: 3.50
Applied to: Political Science
Admission Status to only UCR: Admitted
IGETC certified: Yes"

Wowzers, Congrats Matt..My stats are close to the ones you posted. Did you have any thing exceptional though that you didn't list? Why do you think you got the scholarship?

like i said, UCR is generous with the aid. That is how they attract good students. I got one as an incomming freshman that is why i choose R over some other UC's.. i figured if i wanted to transfer out, might as well make it cheap.

by 'aid' hobofromdt, do you mean they dish out a whole lot of scholarships or financial aid or both?

I went on a 2 week stint with the Red Cross after katrina, I put that in my essay. Explained my experiances (and frustration) there. Ummm... I also got a mock trial award. Thats about it.
