OFFICIAL AP Calculus BC 2012 Test Thread

That makes sense; thanks!

Both of you made the same mistake I did.

The second derivative is not -1/5. It is -1/5(db/dt) or -1/5(1/5)(100-B) or -1/25(100-B)

for part c, doing the separation of variables, for some reason i thought it was 1000-B instead of 100-B… ■■■.

did you guys use the mean value theorem in any parts of the open ended?

What was the second part of the second frq? For some reason, i have the feeling i forgot to add in C at some point…

But overall yeah, it felt pretty easy. I overthought the error bound one, as i tried to actually find the function, and only realized the obvious solution a minute before the end

i hope the curve will still be low, i still think i got a 5,but some multiple choice got me and I slipped on couple easy frq questions, I might have had too much confidence going in bc I got a 5 on AB last year,lol

That test was too easy… expecting a harsh curve.
I would guess you would need around 77~83 out of 108 to get a 5.

This is my first AP my next one is history on Friday , (In 9th grade) , but i thought the test was aright and really easy in some cases thinking im getting a 5 not too sure but seems more than a possibility.

honestly, i thought it was pretty easy but definitely not insanely easy as some people make it out to be. if everything thought it was easy then that means there’ll be a harsh curve :(

For one of the answers, it was negative, but when I wrote it down I forgot to include the negative sign.
Why. D:
Kicking myself so hard right now.

Overall, I thought the FRQ was pretty easy and the MC was rather hard (the calculator one especially so).

Mine didn’t have any resolution related problem. My first FR question was about water temperature. I think it wasn’t that hard… except I couldn’t solve the alternating series remainder.

Chatroom to discuss test

@Enmity
Um, no. The two released corrected test scoring systems show 67 and 69 as the cut offs for a 5. Cutoff scores rarely change more than a few points, and this test was not that much simpler than others.

were the approximation frq around 20?

@UsernameInvalid

Obviously, I’m not talking about the free response, because it hasn’t been 48 hours yet, but if I WERE, I would say that all my answers on FR #5 were within 19±0.8 (I think).

Pretty easy test, I thought. MC non-calculator active and FR calculator-active took me way more time than usual; I was finishing up right when they called time. I’m still thinking I got a 5, though.

how bad will the curve be?

so it is apparent that people thought the test was easy…

the curve is usually 68/108 for a 5…

since it was an easy exam… probs 68+5? 73?? or will it change dramatically?

There were like no volumes. Lol.

Anyway I hate talking about tests after I take them. So I won’t be saying much else.

do you lose points if you leave off of the dt or dx or whatever on an integral? i may have missed a few easy points -_-

How is everyone saying this test was easy?! The series questions were awful. Especially the last FRQ. The calc mult choice was bad too. Oh and for the non calc mult choice, I think, I kept getting a lot of D’s in a row and it was scary
