**OFFICIAL** AP Chemistry 2013 Thread

thanks descuff, that’s not the case but maybe god will shine mercy on me and i will get a 4.

@kiwisarecool, I had a friend who made the EXACT same mistake. She looked at the FRQs and realized she forgot to do the last one. Hopefully you can both still get 5s (or at worst 4s)

In “one point per question”, is question referring to each subproblem (i.e. “a” or “b.ii”) or the whole problem (i.e. #2)?

I’m almost positive that I didn’t have the graph question on 2. I think that it’s hard to believe that this many people just ‘skipped over the question.’

My friend said he saw it on the top of the right page, and the lines started below it. However, I am almost positive I started my answer to every question on the top of the right page every time. Exactly, it wouldn’t be this common… They will find out some time during the grading when they see like 25% leave 5e and 5f out…

Yeah I feel like it would be really hard to miss an entire graph…

I missed the graph when I initially went through the free response. I didn’t catch it until I was reviewing my answers when I had a few minutes to spare, and then of course I freaked out. Either way, if some people did not have the graph, I’m sure the graders will notice and the problem will have to be fixed somehow!

For 5, I’m pretty sure the lines started on the same page as the questions, Which is an intermediate, and then __________________ right below.
Some more pages and then number 6 was on the left hand side of the page, (after a few pages of lines), and then a few more pages of lines followed.
Can anyone confirm my description from what they remember? And also, is there anyone that is 100% absolutely, positively, definitely certain guarenteed that they flipped through the ENTIRE booklet. Because it may have been after a few pages of lines–either way it would be a mistake, but I’m wondering if anyone knows for a fact they flipped through all the blank pages.

For at least one of the six problems, the lines for sure started on the same page as the questions! I can’t remember which though.

Let’s start with: was there anyone that remembered having the graph?

I know that some people definitely did. I don’t think I did but who knows

Okay, I think we should figure this out logically, that’s why I asked if people had it, because if we can remember where on the page things were, we can try to “set up” the booklet, and figure out where the mistake would be.

@jonhs I think you might be right, I literally saw the intermediate question and moved to 6. How the hell could this many people skip a graph like that? Look at the file: it takes up half the page. There is just no way…

The beginning of that question started on the left page for me, and the graph was on the right page (when the booklet was open). I can’t remember if the lines for answering the question started on the left, right, or next page though…but I missed seeing the graph initially, so I feel like they started in a weird place!

There we go, I remember lines on the right hand side of the page. I wish I had more time, I was a bit rushed as this test required more thinking AND more writing, both take up time, so I couldn’t remember the placing of everything as well, but I remembered all the questions almost perfectly, and when I compared it to the release, everything matched up just right (in terms of numbers and equations).

How do you guys think the curve is gonna turn out for this test? I can’t tell if the general consensus is that it was really hard or just so-so… I think I did pretty well on the MC but I know that I only got a couple points (if that) for each FRQ. They were hard. But I hope I can at least pull a 3 at this point.

I remember for FRQ #5 and #6, the lines started immediately where the problem ended. So yes, the lines started on the right hand side of the page.

Where was the graph then??? Exactly as I thought…

If by graph you mean the temperature line thing, then yes, I remember it. I don’t recall it being someplace weird.

On another topic, I stupidly went back and added a negative sign in front of my answer for 3c, which was asking for the magnitude instead of the energy change. Is this -1, or will they let it go?

I remember the graph. It was weird it was like part of the problem, then lines at the end of the page. Then on the next page it was the graph at the top and then more lines.
