Wait so they’ll still see my answers right?

Also for one of the questions you had to cross out the chart thing, so hopefully that means they still look at the actual question sheet. I’m an idiot. :(

Wait guys im freaking out
Just to be clear
For graphs, charts, reactions, and that crossing out question, WRITING DIRECTLY ON THE QUESTION IS OK, right?
So if for those particulAr questions i addressed them in the lines as,“written on question on previous page” that should be fine…
Obviously the other questions that were mathematical and needed explanations went in the lines.
Please someone answer me im freaking out!
Fr example, I drew the potential energy graph on the blank graph provided; I didn’t redraw it on the lines
Please tell me that’s ok please please please
Sorry for the ranting #needa5 #stress

Wait, were sigfigs really required? My teacher told us explicitly that there was no sigfig requirement, so I didn’t pay attention to them. God I hope I didn’t get shafted because of that.

First of all, a human being reads the tests, so anything that’s not crossed out, they will try to follow and grade. AP graders’ goal is to give points, not deduct points, so they find reasons to give points. And for significant figures, the general story is that you will lose one point maximum on the entire test, so if your composite score was a 105, now its a 104 (not a big deal).
Now I have a questions: On question 3, I didn’t realize I had to add 100 for the mass, so all my calculations had just 0.5/0.25 grams for the mass, which messed up some of the answers. I still would have gotten a few points at the beginning of the questions, but how many points would I still get for partial credit? Keep in mind that I wrote the formula and showed how I plugged in all the numbers, and converted my number to moles to from standard enthalpy for one mole using a proportion. I got a weird number like +0.7 kJ/mol or something. It was obviously wrong, but I still had to figure out problem 2 which I left to the end. (I did well on problem 2). It also through off the last part of the question in which it asked you to justify a statement. I said no, as it would have gained mass.
What do you think?
I only gave myself a few points when projecting my score and it still comes up with about a 103, but that’s too borderline. The curve will probably be low to begin with, but a few more points for partial credit will make a lot of difference.

I did the same thing aswell for the mass. When we did practice exams, I noticed that on the FRQs which require you to use data/explain your previous answer, they would give you points for correct calculations using YOUR incorrect data. So if you calculated the incorrect joules for part ii, but used that data to find kj/mol then you would get credit for part iii if you calculated it correctly.

Oh my God guys we are still here? The exam is over. Stop worrying about it until your score is released. You can’t possibly hope to change your scores.

@Karnier Excellent, that means even though everything is technically wrong, since the whole process is there plus my explanation is write for the final part, that would be about another 3 points on that problem. Yay!

i thought i was crazy when some people in my class were talking about a graph. i didnt remember it at all during the test. glad im not alone

This thing must have been extremely hard to see. I still can’t believe I missed it…

Someone sent me the answers to all of the FRQ, as well as their point values. I’m breathing a little easier now…got more of those right than I originally thought. Here’s hoping my grader is kind enough to get me a 5.

Do you have a link to that? You can PM it to me if you prefer :)

@thebombingrange

Someone started a topic about it, and if you scroll several pages back you’ll find the link. It’s ok to talk about FRQ since they’re released

@TheBombingRange As the answers have not been released, some people have already written up their answers, double checked so they’re correct, look back in the post for that of KillerSkullz answers, although I disagree with some of his essay questions, he gives different ideas. And I talked to more people about the graph and the all seem to remember it, it was on the left side of the page (according to them) and then the lines started. Just like you and FullMetalx, it was as if the graph was invisible and the lines were over where the graph should be. No one’s probably going to let this whole graph thing go. I keep thinking about it, and it seems to come up every few pages of posts.

Oooh answers.

Lets all stay calm guys.

As far as I can remember, the graph was pretty clear and would be hard to miss, so I’m guessing some people got misprints…

What happens if misprints occur? Do they make the affected people retake the exam or something?

That’s a good point, we’ll have to wait and see. Maybe there’ll be some “official” news about it soon.

If a misprint occurs they probably adjust the score… I’m sure many people won’t attempt to take it again.
