Hey guys, I’ll be taking the exam Monday as well. I feel very confident- I scored an 81/100 on the 2014 released, well in 5 range. I’ve got the PR, planning on doing at least one of the practice tests. The only thing that really concerns me is buffers and lab-based (really bad teacher. We’ve done pretty much nothing in lab all year). Any links to sources that might help with that would be wonderful! Also, does anybody know if they’ve modified the FRQ section in response to the complaints last year about there not being nearly enough time?
We now receive 105 minutes for the FRQs.
I have finally found the memo released on the AP Chemistry teacher community. It does, in fact, state that 72% of the total points were needed for a 5.
@Smargent how about for a 4?
@elyvine I believe 58%
You needed 67% LY. @APScholar18
They have shortened the frq and are giving more time in response to last year
Also- do the 10 experimental questions count FOR us if we get them right? From what I’ve gathered, they don’t count against you but will they add to your multiple choice score at all?
Mathman- they haven’t shortened the FRQ. I just checked Collegeboard to double check Smargent and they explicitly say the number of FRQ is the same, but we now have 15 minutes more
the experimental don’t count for or against you.
There is 30 minutes more in the multiple choice and 15 minutes more on the fr than last year.
number of questions isn’t changed…still 60 mc (of which 10 are experimental), and 3 long frqs (worth 10 points) and four short frqs (worth 4 points.
Baller55- where have you heard that we have 30 minutes more in MC? Collegeboard says still 90 minutes
Hi, I have the coming exam of the ap chemistry only 24 hours left can u Help with the questions?
What questions basha, post them and someone could help
I thought last year there was only 60 minutes, that’s why no one finished so they upped it to 90
No. Nobody finished the FRQs. It was 90 for multiple choice last year as well.
Exam is:
Section I
60 questions
90 minutes
Section 2
7 questions
105 minutes
Nope. 90 minutes for MC (same as LY); 105 minutes for FRQ (+15 vs. LY)
Could someone tell me what unit these kinds of questions are from?
Add 200ml of .1 M blahblah and 200 ml .2 M soandso, what is the ph
Im having trouble with these in particular
Math man- that would be under Buffers, Titrations Curves, Acid-Base Equilibrium
Man, I wish the MC was extended 30 minutes…
I actually finish really quickly when it comes to mc, I just wish the frq was a bit easier lol
never mind it is for 2014
sorry guys
