AP Chem. How can I prepare for it?

Taking AP chem next year and currently taking chem honors I.

will SATII chem prep do for a decent non-stressful year of AP chem?

bump! bump!

same question here... I am wondering the same thing. Also, is there anybody out there that doesn't think AP Chemistry is hard? Do you really have to be good at math?

I am taking AP Chemistry and I have a great teacher. My teacher has guaranteed we will pass the exam with 15 minutes a day at home studying. The way he has set up the class is the perfect method for teaching (at least for chemistry). There is a lot of math in Chemistry. I am a year behind most of my classmates in math, but I still do fine.

the ap chem teacher at my school is like the ohio chem teacher of the year from last year...and every single student says it's the hardest class they've ever taken. Our guidance counselor said if you want to stay in the top 10%, taking ap chem is not the way to go. I'm terrified of this class. I'd like to know the answer to this question too

In my school AP Chem is a breeze if you were good at Chem the preceding year. (good meaning A average). It is mostly math and special chemical equations, but if you work hard you should be fine.

I love your screen name lol :p:)

Thanks
Yeah, I am taking chemistry now and I got a 95 last term. I'm alright in math, however, I am also a year behind (in math) a lot of honor students. I am just worried because I have to sign up soon and I don't want to get myself into a class that I am going to have serious problems with. Anybody else taking this class- how is it? How much studying are you doing?

I got a 4 on the AP Chem last year, and my teacher was out for 2 months that year w/ liver problems. We made up for lost time by using the Princeton Review books and doing TONS of actual AP test questions. Buy Princeton Review's book; it is very well worth it.

With any kind of regular studying regiment (like the person who said 15 minutes a day) you should pass the exam. If I remember correctly, you only have to get something like 35% of the MC correct to pass--right?

I'm taking AP Chem this year. I really like the class even though I do about 1-1.5 hours hw per day. Don't worry about the math. There is no calculus or anything; just basic algebra mostly (you should know logs though). The material is interesting (a lot better than chem I) and the book used by most AP Chem classes is really good (Zumdahl).

so reading SATII prep book or AP chem prep book like barrons help?

or is there a specific textbook you could recommend?

bump .....................
