"Official" AP English Literature Discussion

Didn't see one so I made one.
What have y'all been doing to prepare for the test?
My class spent a whole quarter reading the book "Writing About Literature", doing essay prompts, and doing practice multiple choice in groups....

Spent the first quarter on Oedipus Rex and Invisible Man, second quarter on The Republic and The Matrix (yeah, the film), and just now starting 1984. My teacher believes that having a lot of these kinds of works under our belts will help the most for the essays.

We’ve also been doing multiple choice practice and a couple poetry essay prompts, while going over AP anchor sets of other essays.

A question slightly related to the topic:

What is the difference between the two AP English exams? Should you do both, or will one suffice? Thanks.

English Language focused on the writing style of the authors and students usually focus on mostly essays than novels. English Literature focused on the literary devices (symbol, dynamic character, motifs) utilized by the authors in a novel or poem. Novels and Poetry are the prime focus of that class/exam.

We honestly haven’t done much. We’ve taken one practice test, but we have class discussion. I’m still a little shaky on HOW to study for this test. I feel like all I can do is some practice tests and learn some English terms. Does anyone have any suggestions?
