Essay 3 was the hardest, not to say it was hard though. I chose to write on a book we studied earlier in the year which was a mistake as I have forgotten much of the plot
But I think I should be fine either way, it wasnt bad at all. That question 1 was a gift

@jaysmoove harry potter is not a āscholarly novelā yet so they cannot use it for question 3. You probably should have added another paragraph to essay with your time you had left.

For question three I used Wuthering Heights.

Freaking out because for my intro to Q2 i said that the book depicted a certain period of timeā¦ when i meant excerpt. Also concluded on a similar noteā¦ I was too stupid to read the info and learn it was an excerpt. So crap

Easy.

I thought it was pretty easy except for the second essay question. I had no idea what to write for that one haha. Did anyone else use Pride and Prejudice for the open question?

I overheard someone who isnāt me saying she wrote the second essay in about 15 minutes with only a thesis and two body paragraphs. I think she might get a 4 or 5 out of 9 on that essay. She thought the first essay was the easiest and was easily able to find a lot of things to talk about. If she could take it a second time, she would have spent less time on the first essay, but she still feels sheāll get an 8 or 9, at worse a 7. She doesnāt know how she feels about the third essay but that sheāll probably get a 7. She is hoping for a 4, but if a miracle of a 5 occurs, that would be okay too.

Just to be clear, Iām just describing how I did and not what was on this test exactly.

MC I messed up a bit, I ran out of time and had to rush a bitā¦only actually reading two of the passages, and then skimming and answering easy questions for the other twoā¦which sucked.

FRQs were much better. I did pretty well on I think all of them and think I had a good understanding to at least get 7s.

Iāll probably get a 3 because of the MC though, maybe a 4 if I am lucky.

I personally felt the multiple choice was pretty easy. There was one difficult poem and one easy one though. The Q1 and Q3 I wrote amazing essays that at the worst were 7ās but more than likely both were 8ās/9ās. Q2 I only had like 20 mins. to read and write so I didnāt have time for a conclusion but all of my points were very good albeit not that deep. I will probably get a 5 on that one. Overall, I either got a high 4 or a low 5.

I thought that generally the test was easy, but the multiple choice section on the Grief poem was a killer. I didnāt get what the poet was saying until it was too late (and even now Im not sure)

I thought it was okay. I pretty much agree with everything @crazyfrog821 said

Google doc anyone?

Does anyone want to go over multiple choice on a Google doc or something? (shh, the College Board thought police will find us and eat our families)

@crazyfrog821ā I talked about how it was a Shakespearean Sonnet, how the author uses the rat and the fly as a metaphor for him ācomplex attitudeā, by providing imagery of pain and avoidance. Also I talked about how the author did not provide the resolution until the final couplet (following the sonnet form), and that the title gives clues about why his lover is upset

Itās amazing how everyone seems to think they did excellent on the essays. At least half of my class all said that they thought they got 7s or higher. They are going to get the test back and be very surprised

The grief passage was definitely killer, didnāt get to check some of my answers because I spent too time on some of the grief questions. I really liked the beethoven one just on a personal note.

First essay was straightforward, touched on all the points although Iām afraid the structure of my essay suffered a little because I erased a lot and the usual rushing to writeaessayin40minutes. Second essay I understood the passage but half way try rough body paragraph about the third person perspective I realized I didnāt have much to say about the third person perspective Lol. Bullshited that but then wrote about the details of Moses/nature and the imagery of the chains. Third essay I thought I was screwed because I read none of the books on the list except for things fall apart which I read two years ago. So I used the death of Ivan Ilyich which I read for fun last year and think this was my best essay out of the three.
A four Iām projecting with a slight chance for a 5 or a 3 if the curve is bad cause seems lot of people did well and cause I couldnāt check some multiple choice answers.

can we get a google doc going?

@sviridovtā thats pretty much what i said as well, but I was referring to the multiple choice section on the Grief passage, not the first essay. I liked the Beethoven one as well

What did you guys write about on the open option essay? I talked about A Prayer For Owen Meany. Actually, my entire class did because it was one of the required readings at my school. I had wanted to try to think of something not on the list, but the book just fit the prompt so perfectly. I also thought that the multiple choice was pretty easy.

I was under the understanding that the books provided in the list were best fitted for the prompt. Thereās relatively no point in using something else. If I were am essay reader I would much prefer the listed books since theyāre the ones that the grader knows in the first placeā¦ just my opinion.
As for books that I considered they were tale of two cities, scarlet letter, and Schindlerās list. I ended up choosing the scarlet letter.

Btw that grief essay definitely gave me some grief haā¦ but i still feel good about the mc.

Overall, as long as I get a 4 Iāll get credit for my college so hopefully everything works out!
