Would love one on fossil fuels! Also one on a keystone or invasive species would be great!

What the hell is a superbug lol???

Would love one on fossil fuels! Also one on a keystone or invasive species would be great!

What the hell is a superbug lol???

So down for invasive species.

Yeah, I would do either the Kudzu or the Cane Toad.

If we get like recycling, fossil fuels and invasive species, I could probably get 7/10 or 8/10 on them.

OH MAN THAT TABLE. Coral reefs and alternative energy were recent, yay. It’s been a while since they’ve done an LD50 test, just first observations.

That is true, yeah.

GM crops would be great. Something solar wise will probs be thrown in there.

My teacher said she predicted questions on nuclear power (the last nuclear question was in 2004) and something about the BP oil spill…

I would love a nuclear energy question! I would be nervous about an alternative energy question, specifically biofuel, urban development question, or forestry question.

Also I really agree with the BP Oil Spill prediction. I’ve seen that a few times on prediction lists.

So I didnt study a whole lot today, but hopefully I can pull the 3 if not the 2. Maybe the 4…

Can someone help me really quick? I need help on the biogeochemical cycles. I’ve been looking at videos and online descriptions, but I’m not getting anything useful.

If somebody could please give me a crash course on the cycles of the big six (CHOPNS), that would be great. A link to a good video/description would work, too.

if you mean carbon,hydrogen,ozone,phosphorus,nitrogen,sulfer, then just remember a few key words

carbon= respiration, photosynthesis
nitrogen = ammonification and dentrification
hydrogen= evap/transpiration
phosphorus = rocks…?
sulfur= volcanoes…

I hope this helps a little, don’t have time to type everything out, cramming myself, lol

BTW, I was looking at the 2003 prompts which seem to emphasize leaf litter! what is this and how is it important?!!!

and does anyone have tips on desgining a good experiment and things to check for, other than the standard list of hypothesis, dependent var., etc. =) thanks

How much do you guys typically answer for the FRQ? My teacher said a sentence per question is fine so long as you get to the point. However, the Princeton Review book has a paragraph answer for each question.

Also, remember phosphorus is used in fertilizers, so the runoff leads to eutrophication and all the complications that come with it. &Nitrogen is the main component of the atmosphere, making up 79% of it!

Leaf litter is the layer of decaying leaves that keeps the heat and water in/out of the ground, provides shelter for growing plants and small animals, provides nutrients for the soil, and something else that I just forgot and will add in when I remember. Basically, if you can think of it as fertilizer and a protective layer, you’re good to go.

For your experimental design–make sure you have numbers. ie, “I will check all groups once a day for 30 days and record how many plants have died each day.”

Also, give specific possible outcomes and relate it to the future–“It is possible my hypothesis was incorrect, and fewer than 50% of the dandelions will die within the first 30 days of their exposure to xHerbicide, so companyY would repeat the experiment with lower doses to find the LD50.”

Happy testing everyone!!

@Mashfeek–concise is best. Always remember to give a specific example, though, but answer in as little space as you can–they want the facts, not the fluff.

well, looks like were closing in, I tried to relax myself by going on facebook, lol bad choice, can anyone help me differentiate the biomes and how to memorize them?

About twelve hours to go…

I cannot emphasize enough how helpful it as been for me to go back and do the FRQ’s from the last few years. You learn your stupid mistakes that way.

Good luck everyone! :)

(Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to cram my brains out)

So…what do you guys think about the exam? I think the mc has a lot ice melting stuff…confuses me

The MCs were really hard?? How did you’re paper go?
Scared!

How did you do on the FRQ on ozone? And, on the mc with the maps, where does El Nino bring wetter seasons?

Wow. Am I the only one that thought the multiple choice was really difficult?
