***Official AP Psychology Study Thread***

What is reflex arc? is that when you leg jerks or something??

Don't forget Bandura's principle of reciprocal determinism and self-efficacy.

recriprocal determinism.. AKA triadic recriprocality = person, environment, behavior all influence our personality

self-efficacy - the more belief we have in our ability to do something. less self-efficacy, less optimistic about ability. Influences personality

bandura was a social cognitist/??

what is ..........
acuity vision?
social trap?
shaping?
stimulus generalization?

Ahhh The Test Was So Bad!!! I Shouldn't Have Self-studied, Well I Should Actually Have Studied....

^ o.O tokyo. geez. so the exam was super hard? ackk

I took the exam too. I think I did pretty well. The multiple choice was definitely harder than 99 and 04, but the free response was easier than I've seen in the past.

thats good news
as lon as there isnt that statistic crap X_X

AP Psych always throws a few statistics questions in there, which I like because I took AP Stats this year. :)

If you took the 2004 Released Exam, do you remember that MC question on variance? That was weird... I wouldn't expect any AP Psych teacher to cover such fine points of statistics (it's basically a definitional thing...no way you can reason it out). Not to mention that question was a joke for any Stats student.

hey which study guide did you use? if you used baaron's, was it harder or easier than its practice tests?

I used Barron's to prepare, but I never did the practice tests in the book. I only did the 1994, 1999, and 2004 released exams.

ah i see, that's cool :)

Did you take any of those?

Where do you live, by the way? You're up pretty late (or pretty early)? :)

how do you get those exams? I printed out all the exams college board had on their site and it was onl essays, no MCs

nope my teachers did not provide us with any practice exams so i had to make-do with the baaron's. you got your exams from your teacher i suppose?
people say baaron's pretty accurate to the real thing, i hope that's true
i live in burnaby bc canada 2 am right now :)...at the moment i am cramming econ for thursday and i plan to review psych in the morning (i take it at noon)

2:35am here in cali. trying to study chem but it's not working. gonna take psych cold (not taking class either)

MC seemed more difficult than the practice tests in PR. ahhhhhh

My teacher had the released exams. If you have time, try asking him/her.

hey so for the statistics question, do we really need to know how to do statistics or just know the basics, how to get standard deviation/variance and know mean/mode/median?

I'm winging it. Read through barron's about a month ago (not taking class), and I started studying last night, but fell asleep.

I've been studying this morning, but eh. Hoping for a 4.
