Official AP US History Thread 2012

Somebody send me the answer key :(

so those werne’t the questions on my friends test. He got completely different frqs and DBQ. DId anyone else get something different?

In all honestly, I can not even comprehend how any of you thought that the MC was easy. I thought that the questions were random and absurd. I, personally, used the REA Crash Course book. Any of you that used it know that it’s great for key concepts/themes. I took an olddd AP exam after studying this book and got a 91/100. I completely killed it, and was overly confident for the exam. Only problem is, as I started looking over the questions, I realized that very few of these questions were even addressed in the REA book. Test questions were extremely poor and random, and by looking at previous exams, I believe that this years exam is completely unlike the past exams. Anyone else upset about this? I feel like they just threw us a curveball?

However, I thought that the DBQ was extremely easy. I was unsure over the era French and Indian War question, though I did get some key facts in over the Proclamation of 1763 and the Stamp Act. I thought the question was fair. My essay over immigration and prohibition was very good, and I’ll be upset if I get anything below an 8 on it. Overall, I thought the essay questions were very fair. This is the only thing that can save my grade at this point…

If anyone can send me the answer key, seanmatthew1995@y a h o o . c o m.

I read ONLY REA crash course the night before and every single question on that M/C was addressed in one form or another on that Crash Course. :/

The questions seemed fair and valid to me. Maybe the types of questions have changed since the year of the practice test you took? I know in Psychology they have moved way more into the biological aspects because of where current research is headed.

I may have exaggerated a bit, but I do feel as if the questions asked were poorly chosen. In my studies, I focused more on key themes/concepts. The questions on the test were completely random, and were a terrible depiction of American History. Definitely not the key points that REA emphasizes. Not to mention that this test, unlike the others, included a lot more questions about recent events. Definitely not something I emphasized in my studies. Not to mention that there was only 1 court case on the entire test, and very few questions on African American history. Also, no reconstruction or founding fathers? seriously?

send me the link! imma.jerk @ ya hoo.c om

@anonscholar I completely agree! I think the test was made poorly; it didn’t represent US history well at all… Some key points/facts in our history we’re even asked on… Disappointment… I used Crash course too, and many of the questions they asked from 1940+ were barely mentioned in the book.

i agree it was poorly made and had obscure questions. However I got 64/80, which is weird because my average is 55 to 58. They were obscure but I thought they were easy to guess the right answer

@notnow

Hmm, guess you were lucky. I didn’t do that great at guessing on this test. Virtually every question I guessed on, I missed. Do you have the answer key by chance? I’m dying to know what I got on the MC…

I guess I knew more than the crash course book and it was all just an illusion because I paid attention in my class as well haha.

Do people still have the list?

Can someone send me the list as well? I dont want to give away my email so if you have it, please PM me!

Yeah, whoever has it please email or PM me too at yankeesfan2549 at AOL. Much appreciated.

Can someone send me the list too… My email is the same as my username at aol… Thanks :-)

Does someone actually have the list? or is everyone just randomly asking for it lol

Guys the test is over… regardless of what the list says your test is in and plus the questions are not supposed to be released… Lol its time to move on and wait for your score… GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! :)

Would also like a PM of the list

can someone PM me also? Thank you so much!!!

The reason why the questions felt different is because they ARE different. I have it from a teacher (who’s also done AP grading, mind you) that the questions run on 5-year cycles - each year, 20% of the multiple choice are recycled and reused. After five years, they scrap ALL the questions and come up with a slate of new ones. This year was the beginning of a 5-year cycle, hence, why the questions felt weird/off.
