Official Barnard Early Decision 2014

(100th reply!)

yeah, that sounds good.

So…has anyone else been stalking various Barnard Facebook groups?

I have! waves hand wildly

Awwww, I meant for this thread to actually carry the final results…but we can set up a new thread, sure. CAN’TTTT WAIT.

LOL, which ones?
For me, mostly the class of 2013 and 2012 groups’ discussion boards. Barnard’s page doesn’t really update that much, but I follow that as well.

Whatever works re: the thread. I don’t have a preference, but I do want to have the opportunity to carry on conversation here AND see results, which may make it hard if we overlap. (Especially since some people receive their letters sooner than others.)

Ok, here’s a compromise: post here you result, but post the breakdown (in the template wej kindly provided for us) in a new thread. Conversations here shall continue.

Works for me. Kiwi?

And chocolat, I’ve looked @ anything Barnard-related on FB and on the web I could find. I’m a bit obsessed. Hear anything in particular that jumps out at you?

i love the barnard facebook group (2012, i think) that has 125 pictures of the campus and dorms. so satisfying!

did any of you follow rachel from seventeen magazine and watch her vlogs on barnard life?

(ALSO: it’s december! this is crazy! I definitely think we should post our results here first and then explain in our separate thread… and if all is happy and cause for celebration, facebook group + planning our first city adventure? haha)

yepp i agree with gloria
we should arrange a new york meetup

Before the school year? Haha, that will be impossible for me. I’m from MN and I would just have no way to get to NYC, especially since I will be in Poland and China over the summer.

Poland and China! That’s so exciting. Are you going for graduation/relatives/etc?

(Also… note that I not so stealthily avoided the meet up subject because I don’t want to jinx myself. Meet ups can/will be discussed by all accepted students at a later date… haha, that sounds like a public service announcement.)

That sounds great to me, Wej. Poland and China also sound very cool…I might be in Paris this summer…oh lord, if I get into Barnard, then this summer will be the kickoff to a very good year.

who will be spending her summer in China? I will be around this summer lol.
btw has barnard received all your SAT tests? It shows they havent received mine on the status…

No, they haven’t received all of my SAT scores. I got an email from them a few days ago, asking for it. Apparently they never got sent, even though I was very sure that I had selected them online. I would maybe call or email Barnard to ask about it, and if they haven’t received them, you can order them rush from CollegeBoard, which means that they’ll arrive in two business days (for an extra $27).

Rebama- does B accept rushed scores? Some places don’t, so I’d check before spending the $27.

I talked to them, and they told me that they do. :)

Hi!

So far Barnard has received everything expect for my ACT scores (my SAT’s are already in so thats fine) and, more importantly, my high school transcript, which I am very scared about. I talked to my school and they said not to worry because it might not have been filed in yet or something, but my teacher recs are there and they sent them out together.

Perhaps I’m being melodramatic here, but I found a typo in my essay, which means I will probably not get accepted. I have mild dyslexia. Nothing too serious or bothersome, but it does make me switch my letters around and that’s why I only discovered the aforementioned typos after I let my mom read the essays. Barnard however does not know that fact about me. I’ve sent them emails and I am going to fax them a corrected version of the essay now, but it’s really late and everything.

So that was my life story, how is everyone else?

I really don’t think that you have to worry too much about a single typo. It happens.
If they need anything from you, they’ll let you know. They did with me, since they never received my SAT IIs and my second SAT I.

I don’t have any more school this year, but I have a huge paper that I need to write. I’m using my Barnard highlighter for the stuff I have to read. :)

just a short questions
did u submitted your application and other documents online? or did most of you mail them?
