Does anybkdy know how this spring thing is supposed to work? I got Spring acceptance. Doesn’t that put me at a major disadvantage for classes, housing, basically everything? I’m grateful to been accepted, just confused I guess.

General Comments HOLY ■■■■■■■ TITS YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHH

cjcow, spring works very smoothly. You can do FPF which is a few blocks from campus, and live in the dorms. Plenty of classes to pick from too.

Rejected :(

Waitlisted. Wow, thought I was gonna get rejected right away. Not bad lol

Rejected to UCLA and waitlisted at Berkeley. Is it better to get waitlisted or get accepted for Spring 2015???

Decision: Accepted

[li] Why you think you were accepted/wait listed/denied: It’s actually some big joke and they’re going to tell me I’m not accepted tomorrow.[/li][/ul]

Other Factors: Supplemental form for disability.

General Comments: Was pretty surprised. Will be going, as long as this isn’t some sick joke.

How do we find out if the regent scholarship is accepted? Does it show on the award letter?

Accepted to CoE
MechE
2310/no sat2’s
LoLoLoLoLo

spring admit is “better” than waitlist strictly in terms of chances. Spring admit means you can start attending in Spring semester. Waitlist does not guarantee anything.

With that said, I know that spring admit can sound scary but it is literally what it sounds like-- you come here for spring semester. You can choose to even come for fall and take FPF (which is expensive but if you value starting college at the same time as others, worth it. Ultimately your call though.) In the long run, FPF students are no different from regular admits. I know plenty of FPF people who got into prestigious medical & grad schools, and amazing jobs afterwards. Just fyi!

@dakemom regents people would have already had interviews, and it will state in a letter that they were offered the regents scholarship

Certainly being accepted for Spring is better since you will still be attending Berkeley ( after a semester of break to refresh and re energize!). Waitlist means you might not get in…

Are decisions out? Cool!

nerdess you mean award letter?

@dakemom Yes, it’s on the letter that says you are admitted.

**Decision: Accepted

Stats:[ul]
[] College/Major Applied To: College of Letters and Science
[] SAT I (by section): 760 Math, 760 Reading, 800 Writing
[] SAT IIs: 800 Math II, 800 Physics
[] GPA, Weighted and Unweighted: I don’t know how to compute the weighted. Unweighted is 3.75 ish.
[] APs (including this year’s):
[] Senior Yr Courseload: Proof-based calc 1-3, proof-based Diff eq, and proof-based Linear Algebra at U of Washington. Physics (with calculus) 2 and 3. Mathematical physics. US Literature. Poly Sci 101. Online combinatorics. Programming 1.

[li] Other stats (Awards, etc.): Internationally ranked competitive skier. Sponsored skier.
[/li]

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] ECs listed on app: Self-study (combinatorics, intro real analysis, proofs, waves & optics). Skiing things (with some leadership). Other stuff that wasn’t very impressive.
[] Essays (subject and responses): Explained my life and how I am motivated by discovery and adventure - 7/10. Explained my desire to attend U of Washington as a high school senior. 8/10.

[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: WA
[] Classified in-state? No
[] School Type, Average Stats of School (if available): Online school → dual-enrolled at community college → U of Washington/ comm college as senior
[] Ethnicity: White
[] Gender: Male
[] Income Bracket: 160000
[] Strengths: SATs, past history of success in the context of skiing and explaining my desire to focus on math and science
[] Weaknesses: grades? I don’t know…
[li] Why you think you were accepted/wait listed/denied: No clue… I would be skeptical of myself if I were an admissions officer. Lucky for them they made the right decision and I will most likely be attending and representing Berkeley in my hopefully illustrious career as a mathematician.
[/li]

[/ul]Other Factors: Hope my parents can pay for UCB. If I go I will be starting in the 100s in the math department, which leaves ample time for grad courses and hopefully time to develop a meaningful relationship with some of the great mathematicians at Berkeley.
General Comments Rejected from MIT, Caltech, Princeton. Waitlisted at Chicago. Accepted at U of Washington and here. Not bad for not going to high school for two years.

Thank You. I guess he is not, then…

2280 and rejected :/

Rejectedddddddddddd! haha. Its not that bad, since UCLA is and always was my top choice, but just knowing I wasn’t good enough for Berkeley kills me lol

@dakemom
If you got regents you will get a regents message in the myMessages section of the portal. You also should have gotten an email by now with more information about the scholarship.
