@adhebbar It doesn’t mean anything other than you are either accepted or rejected from ECE. Hold tight, just a little more than 24 hours to go.
@alpha525 With those rates, you also have to consider the handful of people accepted during Early Decision – with the bigger colleges at CMU it may not change the rate too much for RD applicants. But for schools like the School of Design or SCS, the acceptance rate for RD applicants alone may be substancially different than what’s being shown on the acceptance rate page
@alpha525 Rates are objective, admission is not. But it is a clear indicator of which programs are more selective.
Okay I checked. Not on the waiting list for Design. lol didn’t expect so many design majors to be on CC
not on waiting list… oh mannn this is scary. At least I know this isn’t my third wait listed school LOL
@neverbefore Best of luck. Did you attend an on-campus review?
I refuse to look…I want to find out by mail preferably or at least on the portal.
Hey,
I looked at last year’s RD thread, and there were people who received an “ECE restricted” acceptance to CIT, meaning they were accepted to CIT, but placed on the waiting list for ECE (apparently meaning that, even if not accepted to ECE off the waiting list, they could still try to declare a major in ECE at end of Freshman year).
It seems logical that some who see CIT/ECE on waiting list page, but not their second and third choice, could end up with the “ECE restricted” outcome.
Just my $0.02.
@NICE8x I’m not trying to sway your decision, but it’s going to be pretty hectic tomorrow. Long load times, server crashes. Hopefully you’ll get your FAT letter tomorrow afternoon and won’t have to go through all that.
Wait so are decisions tomorrow or the 26th? Sorry if this has been mentioned several times, but I’m seriously confused
did any of you guys answer this essay?
“While not a requirement, have you been interviewed by an alumni or on campus representative prior to applying for admission? If so, indicate the name of your interviewer and tell us how it impacted your decision to apply.”
@MandomeLife Naw. I registered but couldn’t make it so I cancelled. I did interview with an alumni though. Hopefully that’s enough demonstrated interest. CMU is easily in my Top 1 or 2
@jasishere I’m also confused about when decisions are coming out since some people are saying tomorrow but the email said the 26th.
They mailed the letters yesterday via priority mail, meaning that they will show up in our mailboxes sometime between now and Saturday. For most of the country, they would arrive on Friday.
The portal will be updated Saturday (midnight EST from what I’ve heard, which is also Friday night for a good portion of the country. So yeah. Wish they would just release them in a straightforward fashion.
The weird thing is there have been no reports of acceptances from the Pittsburgh area, since the letters should’ve arrived today.
apparently CMU is coming out on the midnight of the 25th, which technically makes it the 26th.
@jasishere @ymehkri In military time, the decisions will come out on March 26th, 0000.
not on waitlist :OOOOO
@DynamicProphet I just wrote in a brief sentence about how I was going to register for an interview later. I called them up later (after I turned in my app and had my interview) and asked if I could write it up and email it in to supplement my app and they said yes. But I never did, whoops.
But an alumni’s actual report doesn’t really factor in much, so I doubt the student’s write-up is even a minor factor really.
@DynamicProphet I answered it but I just said that I would be attending a design review+interview at a later date.
@neverbefore @aznraffe @MandomeLife Oh okay! Thanks y’all!
