this was late i know, i had to go blow off some steam last night. penn's loss for now...but who knows come spring

Congratulations to everybody who got into Penn ED! I'm a freshman in SAS at Penn now and I can tell you that there are not words strong enough to describe how amazing the Penn experience is. On a side note, let me just tell you that it's great to get in ED because, unlike me who got in RD, you don't have those extra grueling months of waiting. For those of you who were deferred or rejected, let me just say--without trying to sound at all condescending or presumptuous--it may just be for the best. I applied EA to Yale and was deferred and then waitlisted, but now I realize that Penn is so much better for me than Yale ever would have been. So, it's very likely that you'll get in somewhere that, in the end, you'll say "Goodness! I'm so glad I didn't get into Penn ED, because now I'm going to X University and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else." So, I wish you all the best of luck, and I'll look forward to seeing you new '09-ers around campus. If you have any questions, feel free to IM me anytime--my sn is, aside from being kind of corny, pennquaker08. Ciao!

yeah, I did apply to M&T, got deferred. I guess being into science/math and being trilingual didn't help at all.
My scores were well within range, but I guess that they didn't like my app.
Being deferred is like being rejected, I feel...empty...

I compiled stats, and heres how they go.

Total CC admit rate:
Accepted: 55.2%
Deferred: 26.8%
Rejected: 17.9%

Whoa...55.2% is very high.

Well Catch, you gotta take a few things into account.

1.) Accepted kids are much more inclined to post that they got accepted. So the kids who posted that they were applying ED and got rejected/deferred didn't feel like sharing.

2.) CC'ers are among the nerdiest people on earth. And as such, we're not a real indication of anything.

LOL! I agree Choco. What I was wanting to say is, 55.2% is high, but not high enough...ergh...Penn deferred/rejected some of the best kids on CC...:(</p>

And if ANYONE is actually going to use that set of data to estimate their chances...don't...I think the highest admit rate, according to CC, is Huntsman. :)

what about Nursing?

maybe you got pushed from reject to deffer? Think positively
