Official Class of 2014 University of Michigan Decisions Thread

Reading this thread just depresses me. Michigan is my absolute dream school. Always wanted to go to UM. Just love everything about the school and the comments about it from my cousin and her husband(both Michigan alumni) just make me want to go more. But my grades are no where near anything that would be accepted from out of state, since I live in NY. I am thinking about going somewhere, hopefully do really well and just get straight A’s and transfer to Michigan(if I think I’ll be happier there then where ever I go). Haha. But congratulations to those who got in.

I just realized today is the exact halfway point between the date I submitted my app and the date I’m guaranteed to get my decision by. Hopefully I’m more than halfway to getting that decision.

I know no one knows for sure, but if I had all of my materials sent in by Nov 1st and they received everything on Nov 7th, when do you think decisions will be out? U-M is my safety school so I have a good chance of getting in; I read that the better applicants get decisions sooner or something…?

You could have a 4.0 and a 36, you’re not going to get a decision for a while if you submitted it on the last day possible for ED.

plus, you’re OOS, so it’s really not a safety no matter what…

T-Bird, well she definitely has a really good chance, hopefully she hears back soon! I know everyone on here is anxious for their decisions as well, including myself.

Anyone thinks we’ll see some activity tomorrow?

Depends, they had one round, then skipped a thursday, so who knows.

just wondering, if I got my received email from michigan like 3 days ago, is it possible that I might get an answer tomorrow (if theres a round that is)?

I’m gonna be waiting all night!
I really want to get in :(

@ moricarak: That would be HIGHLY unlikely.

My mom’s friend talked to the Admissions Office. They don’t accept you based on how “qualified” you are. Your application gets assigned to an AO. If you get a speedy AO, you’ll know sooner. If you get assigned to a slow one, you won’t know for longer.

But those are assigned based on date of receipt, correct? Because all of the decisions we have seen so far are for people whose stuff was in much longer than 3 days ago.

But it definitely does make sense. In my instance I don’t know of any other Singaporean applicants who’ve gotten their decision.

Ooh I didn’t know you’re from Singapore. I have an exchange student from Singapore in one of my classes right now. You’re going to love the weather. XD

Cool. I hope I do. Singapore’s weather has me sweating like crazy.

Hahaha trust me, you’re gonna miss that sweat when your nose is about to fall off from the cold!

:(

I guess the grass is greener on the other side.

Anyway, based on last year’s pattern, there should be a round of decisions released today.

today as in thursday? lol
