Official Class of 2020 Northeastern University Early Decion/Early Action Discussion

I have looked on CC (and the NU website) for an answer to this question, but am still unclear. Forgive me if this has been answered a million times. My son missed the deadline for early action, but applied shortly afterwards. He had all his documents in by December 1st (ACT, counselor recs, etc). After the early action notifications, will they begin sending regular decision notifications on a rolling basis or release everything at once? From what I can tell, it looks like they will notify all at once later on in the spring. Thanks!

Nobody knows for sure but last year they did, so people are hoping that will happen again.

@bahiablue The last couple of years some ED decisions came out in February. They were Scholars recipients and other top students/top merit aid recipients. The rest have come out on the same day in mid-March.

Thanks for the info Tom. I guess we’ll just have to be patient and see.

When do decisions come out? tomo at 7?

In the past, have NEU decisions come out after 5:00pm? I’ve noticed a lot of schools tend to release them after 5:00pm EST. Anybody know the time NEU released EA last year?

They start to be released at 3 PM Eastern and are finally all out around 8 PM Eastern.

Thank you. I am hoping to get in but last year they only accepted 10 out of 50. We’ll see.

@TomSrOfBoston For EA or ED?

@movinglaciers Should that be for the EDs?

EA, ED came out last Tuesday.

@Lana22 10/50 for what?

At my school only 10 out of 50 students were accepted

last year

because I’m from Boston

About 24 hours until decisions are made. I’m feeling so nervous 8-X

Are we sure that decisions will come out tomorrow? Also, how would we check?

No, we are not sure. Check in the NEU portal. Also, you could read the thread instead of asking the same question that’s been asked 20 times already.

Good luck!

I’m from a public hs in CA, and like only 3 people have ever applied total and 2 have gotten in, none attended. I wonder if this’ll affect me.

@mrpwnage I feel you. I’m also very nervous… it really sucks. I’m sort of expecting a deferral but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t going to be extremely disappointed with that decision. sigh we shall see tommorow…
