When do the early action decisions come out? Anybody know the exact time?
We think anywhere from 3-8 PM EST.
Will we be getting an email, or do we just need to check the portal?
I’m actually trembling. Northeastern is my first choice and its fairly close to home (I’m from Albany). The latte this morning was probably a bad idea.
Statistically I’m in line, 4.0 GPA (my high school uses a 100 point scale and doesn’t weight, but my 94 converts to a 4.0 unweighted), 2170 on my SAT, 32 on my ACT, 770 on the Biology/E SAT II, 780 on World History, 5 on all the AP’s I’ve taken so far.
Subjectively, I’m captain of the Varsity Swim and Dive team, a member of National Art Honor Society (my school doesn’t induct NHS until the end of senior year which is stupid), Co-president of French Club, a juror on the local youth court, violinist in a select orchestra, and I have placed in the top 5 nationally in the National French Contest. I was nominated for a Congressional Art Award, and took a summer Career Development Course at RPI. I also have done many hours of volunteer work for my school and church in various areas.
I’m applying to the School of Architecture in the College of Arts, Media, and Design. I’ve spoken personally to the Interim Director of the school and submitted a supplemental portfolio, but I also know NU technically doesn’t admit by major. I’m just worried about being pushed out by people with better numbers who knew what they were doing to fill out their résumés and bolster applications. Should I be or am I fairly secure?
I know that in the end it’s all a crap shoot anyway, and best of luck to everyone. We’re all in this together guys and even if we don’t get in, it isn’t the end of the world. Who am I kidding someone get me like 30 Valium.

Honestly guys, as much as I want the decisions to come out tomorrow, our sources are unreliable. Where are people hearing that the EA decision is tomorrow?
I agree, so far everything I’ve seen has been pure conjecture
@internationalg No one is hearing that decisions are coming out tomorrow. Based on last year the EA decisions should come out today starting at 3 PM. That is all anyone knows.
How do we get into the portal? People keep talking about it.
@AdotHAM In the “Thank You for your Application to Northeastern!” Email you received a NU login id. You then go to the applicant status check website (http://www.northeastern.edu/admissions/application-status-check/) and enter that ID as your username and your date of birth as password.

@AdotHAM yup! You do receive an email telling you to check your portal because it has been updated and then the decision is in there. It is probably for security reasons they don’t just send you an email saying you’re in or not, but that’s only a guess.
@TomSrOfBoston is it normal for there to be no announcement ahead of time? For example, Cornell sent me a message earlier that week telling me the time and date I would receive my decision.
Best of luck to all of you guys. Sending in love and wishes all the way from India! I got rejected by my dream school earlier this week and I’m only hoping this one goes well since this is #2. We are all going to be fine in the end!
@Ezekiel Northeastern has never sent out an announcement of the release date other than “by December31st”.
