deferred PA 33 act 4.68 W GPA, 3.7 UW GPA… honestly really pissed about this
@c0IIegeb0und it would say in your letter, but everybody who I’ve seen get 16k/year hasn’t gotten an invitation (myself included). I think 18k/year is when they start giving out honors college acceptances, but I don’t know for sure
do more people get deferred than rejected for EA?
Can someone please effing explain why the eff are they deffering people with amazin stats?
@alyssa182 Appeals of merit aid won’t work. Need based aid appeals may.
What’s with Northeastern deferring so many people? Are they trying to increase their yield by seeing who withdraws their application when they get in ED? Do they want students to take the SAT/ACT again? Did they just get too many EA applications?
Accepted! NJ ACT 30 3.8!
Are there anyone in CT who didn’t get their results?
Anyone in FL get their decision yet?
They’re trying to lower acceptance rate to increase ranking
^^^^ Would love to have all of these questions about deferrals answered if anyone knows!
Yeah tried a proxy but unfortunately doesnt work
@ebonhawke ummmm, not to be rude, but you should really leave the cow-tipping to us Wisconsin folk…
@AnneKatherine I actually got in with a relatively low SAT score (2000+)compares to those who also got admitted. I think standardized test score is not that crucial for NEU.
@Kahlil The only way for a school to lower its acceptance rate is to get more applicants or admit fewer students while having a higher yield. :3
Accepted!
Major: Chemistry
Weighted GPA: 3.7
SAT: (800 CR, 760 W, 710 M)
SATII: 800 Chemistry, 780 Math II
AP: 5 Chemistry, 5 APUSH. Taking Physics 1, Bio, Calc AB, and Latin.
Right - they are getting more applicants every year, thus admitting fewer students. They are deferring the borderline ones so they can see who else is coming down the pike in RD. Pretty basic.
@Guo12138 Congratulations on your acceptance!
@elmstreetking accounting?? No way… what were your ECs and where are you from?
Also I didn’t get an email but I logged onto the portal and saw I was accepted.
