@Emily33 the 630 CR sticks out and is probably what got you deferred from EA. That and region, gender, and ethnicity (guessing), which you don’t have much control over. Like tronneutron said they are probably just trying to balance things out early on and my guess/hope is that you will get in for RD. Northeastern is very score oriented in it’s decision making IMO. Good luck!

@sodiumrabbit Did you visit Northeastern? They take into account demonstrated interest, so if you didn’t visit, they may have thought you were using them as a safety and deferred you. Your stats are great, so I bet you will get in.
@sodiumrabbit Have you thought about trying to talk to the admissions counselor to see if they will tell you why they deferred you? My son was deferred from a different school… he emailed the admissions counselor, set up a phone appointment, and she told him that it was his GPA. Now, I will say, I’m skeptical that it was the only reason, but she was at least willing to talk to him about it. I have no idea if Northeastern would be willing to talk to you, but it might be worth a shot.
@suzyQ7 yeah I actually visited the school twice… I love northeastern and I really want to go… I hope I get accepted
I would say just keep demonstrating interest. They had someone in my major call to talk to me about what I could expect if I go to NEU - so I would think that maybe you might be able to call and ask if you could do something similar?

When and how did you find out?
@TXDad56 This is the EA/ED decision thread. Those decisions were released in December. The early RD decisions came out in mid February. The bulk of RD decisions will likely be released on 3/15. There is an email that links to the online decision.
what time on 3/15?
@Lana22 - historically, they’ve been released in waves starting at 3 pm EST, such that nowhere gets word before 3 pm local time. When I got an email to check the portal, it was around 10 pm or so.
For 2015, the decision was available online after 3pm on Tuesday, March 17th. It was the happiest day of his life! We were exactly where you are last year at this time. Wishing you all the best of luck!
3:00 cannot get here sooner #:-S
This is the EA/ED thread. Probably best to let this thread die. Use the RD thread instead.
I didn’t get any email…Is this bad?
I haven’t gotten an email either.
Accepted to NU in Program. I did not receive an email yet, I was checking my application status and there it was!
This is the EA/ED thread. Probably best to let this thread die.
You MIGHT want to use the Regular Decision thread instead.
OMG I just got accepted!!! I’m so happy I don’t know what to do OMG
