Math Teacher: Standard letter - talked about passion for math
English Teacher: Didn’t read, think will be good, good relationship
Research Mentor: Strong letter, my mentor loved me and spent a lot of time and effort in crafting it

Interviewed with alumni and on-site, both went well
I think essays are strong, reviewed extensively

@collegestress777 there’s nothing closer to a lock than you. save some spots for the rest of us :)) also @QuiteAnxious thank you! im sure we’re all highly qualified and get in :slight_smile:

Can we all please stop with the chance me posts? I don’t think this is the right time to discuss your chances, especially since everyone is anxious about their own.

If you want to be helpful, post your stuff in the results thread. If you really want to know your chances, see the statistics on CMU Admissions’ website.

Regards.

@RoleastLained I agree. It doesn’t add to the conversation and there are chance me threads for a reason.

Anyone recommend good ways to pass time? Time goes so slow when you want it to go fast :stuck_out_tongue:

@WardenElite Hang out with friends! I’m getting a game of Mario party tonight with my best friends

@WardenElite study for finals!

@WardenElite go play Playerunknown’s Battleground hahahahaha

@mainer199 LOL I just read this from steam overlay while in a PUBG game xD

what time will CMU notification come out tomorrow ?

12 AM EST or today 9 PM PST

Aka 9 hours ^:)^

@rropey which department did you apply to?

@ChemistryKing7 ECE

if not for CS at CMU, no reason for ED. acceptance rate for other than CS was 14%

Some people ED because they like the school and don’t care about rankings or acceptance rate. I EDed because of both that and rankings.

I was going to ED engineering because I love the school but then I decided not to because of financial aid & I wouldn’t have wanted to apply to ECE ED because I would not have been able to be accepted to CIT without ECE

I ED’d to dietrich. I am trying to get any advantage I can :-S

@RonaldDream you ed Dietrich because it’s the easiest to get in?? :-/

@mainer199 Haha no, I was doing Dietrich either way because I want to study statistics. I meant I chose ED instead of RD because I wanted the advantage

I applied ED to CIT ECE because

  1. The campus was beautiful. I can’t believe people say it’s ugly. Sure, it’s a subjective matter, but I just loved it.
  2. I loved the activities and tradition. I loved Mobot the most because it’s almost like a clichĂ© yet complex Arduino project.
  3. There was no way I would get in RD.
  4. Robotics is offered as a double major.
  5. The start-up culture. I want to make a start-up specializing in hardwired neural networks (also known as neural processing units, machine learning accelerators, etc) that are cheap and can be used for prototyping, along with an end-unit version. If you don’t understand what I’m saying, look up NVidia Volta, Intel Neural Compute Stick, Apple Bionic Processor. I know that since CMU has Tepper, I will minor in Business. Furthermore, the intellectual ability and work ethic is stellar.
