Official Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion Thread

@MrElonMusk thank you so much!

@collage99 Congratulations. May I ask which schools in CMU you got in?

@zhengfangchen So I applied to Mellon college of science as my first choice and also Dietrich as my second choice. The admission letter said I got into Mellon, though

re: Can anyone see a letter on USPS informed delivery

I see a package from Stamps.com in LA. Mailed 3.30 at 12 am. Anyone else? Not sure why it would go through LA unless they had it printed and shipped by stamps.com

@collage99 Thank you for sharing the information. MCS is more competitive than DC. Congrats again, and best wishes to your Stanford admission.

With my low stats, I doubt I am able to get into Tepper.

FYI
My Daughter just got the FAT letter!
CS!

Anyone from School of Computer Science (SCS) who got FAT letter? If so, which state are you in?

Anyone with a FAT letter see anything in their Informed Delivery?

@NoviceDad Congratulations, your daughter is amazing.

NoviceDad congratulations. Which state are you in? Anyone in Northern California get the decision letter?

@bluedevil8130 are envelopes a thing on informed delivery? Is this what has been done/seen in the past?

@NoviceDad Congrats to both of you! Would you please share her stats with us? I’m aiming for CS too and I’m nervous about whether or not I’m gonna get in since my stats are on the lower side of SCS’s spectrum

Anything from California??? Anyone for Tepper?

If they mailed them yesterday, we won’t get them in California until probably Monday.

My son just got his FAT letter! CMU was his #1 choice. Overjoyed here! We are in a suburb of Pittsburgh within 30 minutes of campus. Informed Delivery did NOT show the FAT letter. I think it is too FAT to fit in the scanner.

His stats: Information Systems in Dietrich. 1500 SAT. 33 ACT. 700 Math II. 670 Chemistry. Class rank 4/144. GPA 4.3 weighted. Lots of AP classes. Eagle Scout. Lots of leadership in sports and clubs. Lots of community service. Amazing essays. Writes as a paid columnist in our local newspaper. I’m certain his recommendations were off the charts.

Congrats to everyone who is getting good news from CMU today or tomorrow! It is certainly a wonderful feeling. Best wishes to everyone who doesn’t get the letter - you are certainly destined for great things somewhere!

Has anyone outside of the greater Pittsburgh area received a FAT letter??

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew how strict CMU is with their subject test requirements. I wrote a letter and had it sent a month or two ago in an attempt to get the subject test requirements waived. As the decision release date approaches, I am becoming increasingly nervous about not having the subject tests 0_o. The only hooks I have are my research experience and being a recruited athlete.

Congratulations to all of the new Tartans!!

@MagicMasala This is from an email they sent me:
