Official Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion Thread

For anyone who wanted to know: Pittsburgh ED students did get their fat letters today. I don’t know about other places.

@RichLion I feel like admissions would’ve mailed acceptances yesterday so that it lines up with acceptance tomorrow, but I have the March 27th notification too, so hopefully not a rejection?

@glguys how do you know?

@ACollegeHopeful3 idk any more schools who do that…

@glguys @RichLion i dont feel like they would mail the 27th. Priority means at most 3 day (given 1 or 2 people may have delays), so everyone would have gotten the package today. I think they mailed it out yesterday in hopes that everyone (most ppl are 2 day) would get them tomorrow.

@heyigotnoclue I called admissions, and @ricecooker420 that is true, thanks!

Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UC Los Angeles, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, University of Washington - Seattle, University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, UC San Diego and UC Irvine have rejected me. Major - Comp Sci. No hopes for CMU ://

@Palaksh Don’t lose hope until it’s certain. I had a friend that was rejected everywhere but got into Yale, so keep your head up

@ricecooker420 Thanks. Means a lot. :heart:

I think I figured out how you might be able to get your decision early.

First: First login to your “Where Am I In The Process” page. In Google Chrome, right click on the “Financial Aid Notification” button and select “Inspect Element”. Find your “Admission ID” in the line that looks like:

(1234567 would be your admission id in this example)

Now, navigate to https://cas-webapp.andrew.cmu.edu/ntia-deposit/index.html enter your information in, including the ID you found earlier, and hit submit. If it says it’s invalid, I’m pretty sure you weren’t admitted (that’s what mine says!).

Proof that this number is your actual admissions ID can be found by successfully logging into here: https://cas-webapp.andrew.cmu.edu/ntia/ (this works for me, but the other page doesn’t so I was probably denied or waitlisted)

Does anyone’s admission portals now say “Decision sent” n 27-March 2018?

Mine says “Decision Notification Letter” 27-mar-2018. So that’s probably the rejection.

@zhengfangchen
To answer how I felt last year when my son got in – basically, puzzled by the randomness of the acceptance/rejection distribution overall and relief that we had applied to a lot of places so that he had quite a few feasible options. Also my son was out of the country at this time last year so I just found out via the FAT letter (he wouldn’t access the portal until a week later.)

Does everyone’s say admissions letter sent
because in the email it said only admitted student’s will get a letter
But Carnegie is a reach school, so I don’t think I was admitted

Mine says it was sent then too but if everyone has it that may not mean anything

Also this is what the email said
“All admitted students will also receive important supporting documents and information regarding their admission decision by postal mail.”

My portal hasn’t changed at all - it just says Admission and Financial Aid Notification in red which isn’t an active link

I DIDN"T GET ANY EMAIL WHAT DOES THIS MEAN OMG

@mmstanfordbound did you check the first row in the Admission Documents Sent chart?

@mmstanfordbound it was sent a week ago
its the one where they said they were releasing them tommorow

@lanean18 Yes! I see it - it says Decision Notification Letter sent
