Guys hen I checked my application statuts they said I have nothing to do for the fininaical aid section, but I didn’t do my CSS profile yet. Is thy bad?

Probably… Are you sure your parents didn’t do it ofr you?

Problem is that my college advisor told about that three weeks after 11/1 and never mentioned about it since.

@SweetIceTea Engineering, Mechanical and Aerospace.

@cesar112 if you intend to apply for financial aid I would hazard a guess that it’s not a good thing.

Hey guys, did any of you get an email from cornell asking for an interview? I’m applying to the college of engineering, so i feel that’s a bit out of the norm. Do you guys know how i should prepare? They say they want to emphasize certain parts of my application and answer any questions I might have. Is getting the interview a good or a bad sign? What are they going to ask me about, like what i wrote in my personal statement, activities, etc?

@Cornell19 : Sorry for the late response, when I referred to the extended deadline, I was implying that that was cause to slightly higher amounts of applicants which in turn may have caused a later decision day. The Dec 1st thing has no bearing on what I meant.

@TodaysEinstein :Are you talking about the CAAAN meeting thing? If so, they mostly ask about what you’ve been up to as of late, EC’s, and tells you about the campus, course difficulty and food and social life…all about Cornell. There isn’t much to bring, just your interest in Cornell and wonderful personality.

I wonder what’s worse, waiting till December 11th for the decision or if accepted waiting till you get to actually go!

@Cornell19 Ha ha IKR! Also I’m not sure if its worse to wait and hope all day for weeks and be rejected or worse to be deferred and have to wait even more…

@Autumn97 I want to be either accepted or rejected, not deferred haha but that’s just me

Edit: is Cornell like Harvard when they accept like 20% SCEA then almost everyone else gets deferred? Or is usually either accept or reject

I’d 10000x rather be deferred then wait listed then accepted than flat out rejected… Cornell is my favorite school, I don’t care how I get there, but I want to be there

@Cornell19 : Yeah, a certain answer is always best. Totally get that, at least then you can move on

@Cornell19 : Well…when I went to the Engineering info session, they said that they felt they owed it to the applicants to give them a straight answer so they Reject or Accept unless they think the student has a high chance of being admitted RD…Not sure what it is like at other colleges

If you didn’t do your CSS profile, is it going to limit your chance of gettin into cornell?

@jamesjunkers I’m guessing if you’re deferred ED, chances are that you’re getting denied. No led to prolong the experience an exta 5 months

@cesar112 : Nah, they are need blind so they do admissions and fin aid stuff separately. However, you should still work on getting that in ASAP if you do plan on getting finaid

Am I the only one who has already gone through the Cornell store and picked out a ton of items I’m going to buy if accepted haha

@Cornell19 Ha ha…yeah I bought a shirt, but I’m afraid to wear it lest I should be rejected

@Autumn97 I have a sweatshirt but also afraid to wear it hahaha. If accepted I’ll buy a lot more and wear it every day
