Official Crtitical Reading Discussion Thread November

Which writing section was experimental? Also, I can’t remember the other 2 reading sections.

Glaciers passage was also a reading

ok, so I remember the short one on the guy who started writing. It was the first one after the sentence completions, but I still dont remember the Italy one. what was it about?

i didnt have anything about a guy in italy or a guy writing to his mom

I think we have it now. These are the ones that counted for sure because I had writing experimental.

1) Bach
2) Long dual passage on Mark Twain and fingerprints
3) short dual passage on farming
4) Passage on Sunny and finding the calligraphy
5) short apssage on a guy who starts writing but it is difficult
6) longer passage on Glaciers and how they affect us
7) short passage on Italy ( still can’t remember this one)

@ novelidea it was one where a grandma wanted her son or daughter to write about her life because the person was an author? Was this experimental reading?

It was about a guy who talked about the laws of physics and what not and how he went to Italy and moved a car or whatever. Please tell me you had this section lol, I did very well on it.

King Aurora, i still dont remember the Italy one, so maybe it was experimental of my brain it too fired to remember. Did you have experimental CR?

The one lifted car

I think I had math experimental and I don’t recall having a short Italian passage…

Lolo- i still dont remember it. If it was on my version of the test, it had to be a short 2 question passage. If not, then it was experimental. WHat were some of your hard vocab words from that section? I remember almost all of those so I can tell from that.

I remember a passage being about an author who loved to write and later gained something from it. It was a short passage.

Ah ****, I just realized I got “disconcerted” wrong, the correct answer is “disparaging”. I was contemplating erasing and choosing that. (Calligraphy passage) Damn

I don’t think it was disparaging. I’m pretty sure it was cursory…?

I put cursory too… is it cursory?

It’s cursory. I guess I had a different impression of what disparaging meant on the question, my bad

Disparaging means derogatory, and her sister was definitely not derogatory, just uninterested. Therefore, cursory seems to be a much better fit.

Also what did you guys put for the question about how other “science advances” are different from figuring out geography’s impact on human? they talked about geographic analysis can only be done gradually and there is no"eureka" …something like that.

Sorry, didn’t see you replied, my phone is slow -.-

I’m not sure what question you’re talking about, can you remember anything else?

The only one I can possibly think of like what you said is the one where it was both incremental and collaborative.
