What time and date do we find out if we've been accepted/rejected? How did it go last year?

The admissions officers won't know when decisions will be available until they're through several days of the selection process. Last year, they announced the mail date on March 6, and decisions were available online on Saturday, March 18. I believe they mailed decisions last year on Friday, March 17.

Historically, MIT decisions have been mailed on or close to Pi Day, March 14. The past few years, it's been a little later than that.

There have been a lot of comments in the blogs that we're going to mail on Pi Day this year. This was indeed the case last year, but we don't yet have a mail date set for this year. Just wanted to clarify - it will indeed be in mid-March, but Mail Day depends on a variety of factors, one of which is how long selection takes. And as you know, we've just begun. :-)

As soon as I know the official day, YOU will know!

this year the goal is to release decisions on Saturday, March 17th

according to Ben the decisions are projected to be released at noon
