hmm...i don't remember which room 312 is (it's one on either side of 314). it's either a double (i think so) or a nice sized single. each room faces away from the quad. the double is directly across from a study room on the 3rd floor. the single is right next to the bathrrom (although the door is down the hall a bit). the double had kind of "balcony" outside of it - it's actually the roof of the second floor but it's flat and about 6 feet deep and def. big enough to go out on to drink, smoke, hang, whatever you want. it's shared with 314 and the room on the other side (that ws a girls room last year). the floor was split half/half guys and girls, i would assume that would be the same arrangment this year. enjoy the room - if it is the double you're taking over for 2 great guys. good room.

yep its the double. thanks for the inside scoop i'm lookin forward to it

Does anyone have any information on this dorm? Like about how big it is? Or anyone with pictures that could be helpful. I'm trying to determine what exactly to put in my dorm and I don't want to think that I have room for some things and then it turns out that I don't.

Thanks.

it's big, has AC, nice sized rroms, and brand new. the nicest dorm at duke.

Do you have an elephant? That would probably fit.

ok, maybe not, but the rooms are pretty big. If you're unsure if something will fit, you could wait to buy it until you get down to Duke and see your room. I'd say that you have space for a number of things... but then again I haven't been in Bell Tower too many times.

how big is jarvis in comparison to the other dorms?

jarvis is the about same size as all the other dorms on the east quad. they're all 3 floors with about 150 people total (?). jarvis is a great location though.

Actually, Jarvis and Aycock are both a little smaller than the regular dorms. 3 floor, as was said, but there's only around 90 students in each. I believe Epworth is the only dorm smaller.

in your other post, loveduke22, u said the rooms were 'absolutely massive' with walk in closets. now you're saying they're smaller than regular dorm rooms?

She's just saying that the dorm as a whole is smaller, as in there are fewer rooms.

ok gotcha, fewer rooms, not smaller sized rooms

To the person asking about Pegram... I was in Pegram last year and it was great. Apparently in the years before I was there it was known as a party dorm ("can't spell pregame without Pegram"), but I guess the fact that it was the performing arts dorm and the Genome FOCUS dorm last year mellowed it out a little bit. Still, there was definitely a strong sense of community within the dorm... great people, everyone left their doors open, and for the first few months basically everyone hang out in the common room all the time (although maybe that was just because it had A/C). Also, people would go out to parties in massive groups of 30+ people for the first few weeks. Sure, it may get a little dirty when the cleaning crews have off (such as the weekend)... but take my word for it, it was a great dorm to live in. I'm sure anyone that lived there last year would tell you the same. Everyone develops a nostalgia for Pegram.

How is Pegram 3rd floor? All of east has AC now which is awesome… but the 3rd floor double rooms seem to be smaller? Is that true?
