<p>Decision: Insert Here </p>

<p>Stats:
SAT I:1800/2400 - probably one of the lower scores of accepted students
SAT IIs:
ACT: 28 - midrange for Emory
GPA:3.7 UW / 4.0 W
Rank: 41 / 367
Other stats:</p>

<p>Subjective
Essays: pretty good, wrote about my passion for reading as well as my success despite my economic situation
Teacher Recs: pretty good, nothing bad or inadequate, I think they were all pretty much raving reviews
Counselor Rec: amazing reccommendations, I was called "a gem"
Hook (if any): African American, Single Parent, First Generation, Emory Scholar Nominee</p>

<p>Location/Person
State or Country: Georgia
School Type: Urban, Public
Ethnicity: African American
Gender:Female
Perceived Strengths/Weaknesses: Strengths: course curriculum (I've taken all AP and honors classes), ECs (largely academic and community service oriented; Academic Decathlon, Academic Quiz Bowl, Key Club, NHS...etc. Weaknesses: Definitely SAT though I think ACT kinda compensates...either way not outstanding test scores considering the type of student that applies to Emory
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: Although I don't have the greatest test scores, I think I have shown that I'm willing to take on challenges and that I really have a dedication to learning. I also think minority status helped me a lot.
Other Factors:
General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: Sadly, I've become disinfatuated with the school as a whole and I'm more into a smaller more liberal arts based college. I still consider it a HUGE accomplishment to be accepted because I totally wasn't expecting it and Emory is on the list of "Hardest Colleges to Get Into". Congrats to all others who believe that Emory is their dream school though. I wish you all good luck :)</p>

<p>Congrats!!!</p>

<p>I got in too. I'm wondering if any of us are going to be rejected, I'm not sure they would bother to contact us early just to reject us. I might post my stats later in the day still.</p>

<p>I GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!! Lol, sorry I'm just happy right now. I'll post my stats in the morning cause I'm going to bed.</p>

<p>Congratulations, everyone!</p>

<p>I wanna find out about the scholarship awards though..</p>

<p>You mean financial aid?</p>

<p>im in!

<p>I thought I would not get accepted. I just applied to this college cause at the time I was going college crazy and was just looking down the list of colleges that take the common app. Emory was ranked high and from I what I have heard is good for pre-med students so I applied. I also thought I would have been rejected because I received an email notifying me that I should apply to Oxford, which look as if it is easier to get into than Emory. Also, they like just called my counselor yesterday and asked for my test scores, so I don't if the decision was already made. I think it was just a mix up because I gave them my scores a while ago.</p>

<p>hm i don't think i have a decision yet....</p>

<p>i went to the admissions part of opus but it only shows like course catalog and schedule...</p>

<p>where did you guys see your decision?</p>

<p>no, merit aid</p>

<p>Clicked on Admissions... Then clicked View Your Decision Letter.</p>

<p>ah ok then yea i don't have a decision yet :(</p>

<p>congrats everyone....i don't want to wait until the 31st!!!</p>
