My D got the e-mail as well. I'm quite sure it went to everyone. Too bad! We hoped it was something else when we saw the e-mail from Emory in the inbox.

I got that email but with a different opening paragraph (already admitted):

Congratulations on your acceptance to Emory. We're happy to share more good news: Emory University recently was named a best value in private colleges by Kiplinger’s magazine...

I got that too, I think that went out to everyone...but yeah, not gonna lie, that got my heart jumping a little when I first saw it hahaha. :

Nope....as you await your decision...bla bla bla.

When were you admited, liana? Congrats!

Got the e-mail too...just want to keep us interested should we be admitted, I'm sure.

Oh, 7am! Interesting...I'm leaving the country for a week sometime in middle of the night/early morning before that, maybe they'll be up a few hours early. crosses fingers

I found out I was admitted last week Friday.

I have to say that I have been very impressed with the admissions process at Emory. After my D applied, she got letters (forms, obviously, but still it was really nice) from different departments that were related to interests expressed in her application. Also, when we sent an update email, we got two Emory responses--no other school even acknowledged it.

Argh, why 7:00 in the morning? That's kinda random. So is someone in the admissions office going to be waking up early just to release the decisions? I wish they would do it the afternoon before since I'll be in Spain (yay!) for spring break on March 31. :(

Have yet to hear...

bah! it kills me!

7 AM will be 4 AM for those of us in the west. I wonder if we'll be checking at that hour. Actually, I am much more of an Emory fan than is my D, so we'll have to see what her other options are.

Congrats btw!!! That's amazing!

rock on!!!!!

are you going to attend Emory Weasel?

Not sure yet. I still have to hear from several schools, but Emory is definitely looking good.

Weasel,

Hearty Congrats! I've been impressed by your comments and posts during the past year, and I'm glad to know that your talents are being recognized. You are in the select few, and I hope you consider seriously taking advantage of the offer of the full-ride Emory scholarship. I have known of others who have done so and have had highly satisfying academic and enrichment experiences. Given your interests in medical research, I can say that opportunities abound at Emory -- my daughter just this past week was offered a research role in the Bio Dept., something about zebrafish and neuroscience.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks very much and congrats to your daughter on the research position.

omg im sooo excited to hear back from emory!
im defiantely waking up at 7...
who knows if it will actually happen.

FWIW - My D did NOT get the email the rest of you got. Emory is a reach for her (2080 SAT). I'm thinking this might not be good.... Emory is her #1 choice, but we probably can't afford it anyway, and she's been accepted at all other 5 schools she's applied to (with money), so she'll get over it. I don't think I'll mention that you all got emails, though.
