Weaknesses: GPA
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/denied: At least 30 other people from my school applied. There was no way they could take us all haha

I feel so honored to be accepted!

BUT I’ve already committed to swim at Dartmouth, so I’m happy for whoever gets my spot off the wait list. Congrats and good luck everyone!

Waitlisted, 1400/2110 SAT, 32 ACT, 3.75 UW/4.2 W, 800 biology, 710 math II and 640 literature on the SAT II. I had almost 400 hours of community service, had good reccomendations, sports, visited Emory and went to several info sessions at my school and put time into the essays. I guess my scores weren’t high enough or I wasnt diverse enough (White female, from Fl, wanted to major in biology). I wanna get in but I wish I’d know how much financial aid I would get, if it’s not enought I would get off the Waitlist so someone else could have a better shot getting in.

Decision: Accepted - Emory College

[] Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): National Merit Finalist, AP Scholar, blah blah

[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Really strong. Started couple clubs at my school, president of MUN, student body vice president, head of Honor Council, lots of leadership etc.

[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: REALLY strong leadership and dedication to community service
[] Weaknesses: No perfect scores, academically strong but not outstanding
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I honestly don’t know! I thought I would be waitlisted for sure because I didn’t show much interest in Emory, but I think my “Why Emory” essay was the make-or-break factor in here. For future applicants, I guess I’d recommend really somehow tying your extracurricular interests in with a vision of how you’ll apply your talents and skills at Emory and how Emory’s resources will help you do so. Why Emory is important, y’all!
