OK Guys, for FRQ #4- the question was:

Analyze the impact of Atlantic Trade on the economy of Western Europe between 1450-1750.

So one, you should only be talking about economic benefits/downsides in that time period. What I wrote about was:

Trade with the Americas- New Resources/colonization

And Mercantilism- look at the intro to Mercantilism on wikipedia. It says that mercantilism dominated the economies of Western Europe in the 16th-18th centuries… Umm that’s exactly the question haha. And triangular trade affected that.

And Eff, I messed up. I talked about trade in the oriental as well (well, how exploration in the oriental, india, south africa, led to increase in atlantic trade

[“this is not a pipe” surrealism - Google Search](<a href=“"this is not a pipe" surrealism - Google Search”>"this is not a pipe" surrealism - Google Search)

^horrible question. It wasn’t even surreal looking. Now if I saw melting clocks in a yellow background… that’s surreal.

Meh, yeah. I didn’t recognize what futurism was, so I didn’t put it
Yay for ignorance? :)

DBQ: How did you guys organize? Is this good enough?

Group 1: Rise of Nazis
Group 2: Proletariat Revolution
Group 3: Dissent among citizens who originally supported the Weimar, but now don’t like it.

The main one I’m not sure on is group 3. :

I was thinking of doing four groups but the only other possible group I could think of was a group consisting of those who supported the Weimar Republic, but that wouldn’t lead to instability, right?

I had group 3. You mean the doc with the discontent veteran, and the doc from the former chancellor guy right?

^^^^
Haha yeah, good to hear I’m not the only one. Do you think that’s right?

I’m pretty sure my first two groups are fine, just wasn’t sure about the third one.

I had five groups in total. Pretty sure that group is one of my legit ones.

^^^
Five groups? Wowa. Only other possible group I saw was those who supported the Weimar, but that couldn’t possibly be a reason for instability. Tried to stay away from any documents supporting it, which left me with 8 documents I think.

-people who thought they were backstabbed (veteran + chancellor)
-the government reps (the first 2 docs)
-communists (the communist dude and cartoon)
-Nazis (Goebbles, Hitler, and the Nazi psychology)
-people who supported democracy (the professor and the journalist).

I think I had a pretty unique DBQ organization:

Novelty. Germany had never had a democracy before, or women in government. (1,2,4)
i.e. democracy didn’t happen overnight, women speaker (bias), speech to university kids

Other factions with opposing viewpoint; democracy is means to end (most documents)
i.e. communists and Nazis who were coming like “wolves” and “enemies”

The overall lack of characteristic Germany fervor and support; the populace felt disillusioned and betrayed, “un-german”, no “heart-flutter” (most of the later documents, Hitler’s last speech).

I ended up using all the documents and analyzing POV 4 times. I was unsure if the communist cartoon was satirical or not so I approached it sort of neutrally. Does anyone know if for number 7 on the FR if you had to address all three factors for both Freud and Darwin, or could you mix and match? Because I knew little about Freud as it was :P

I believe the cartoon was portraying the “backstabbing” that the imperial chancellor was speaking of - hence the white flag, and the title “One Day We’ll Get Even” which I think refers to the Weimar government who were the backstabbers.

^^
No thats the lyrics in the Communist song/slogan. Didn’t you read the asterisck?

No. The asterisk was for the “arise, you wretched of the earth”.

Wait ***, then I screwed up ffs.

wasnt that document talking about the rise of communism? because it had that quote which was from their official anthem.

^^
thats wat I was thinking

johnw377. my DBQ orgainization was the EXACT things you did, WOW

anyways the only thing im worried about is that for the last document i put it under the “no history of democracy” do you think that would work, i wrote how people instead looked for a strong leader like in the past

im kinda worried about that because i only had 2 documnets for no history of democracy(6, 11) and im wondering if that was a fallacious group, my grade drops down at least to a 5

so yeah let my know what u think :/

really? interesting. I don’t know if the last doc would count for no history of democracy, but I didn’t read the last one very carefully once I found the part about “vocation” and if every german has such and such idealism. I thought it was kind of evident that atleast doc 1 would be in there for no history but idk. What was doc 6 and 11 again?
