Hi everyone! Anyone else apply to Pomona for next year? Wondering if anyone got a confirmation email from Pomona with login information of some sort yet?

I also applied to Pomona as a Fall '14 Transfer. I haven’t heard anything from the school yet. I think we should get something if anything by the end of this week.

Hopefully! In the meantime, I’ll be visiting Pomona this Thursday. @nostalgicwisdom, do you think the organized campus tour would be helpful to go on? Or should I just go around on my own? I’m also planning on sitting in on a class in the morning. Where do I go to get permission to do so? Admissions office? Also, where could we park?

If you are visiting in my opinion, you should definitely contact the admissions office since they recommend interviews especially if you have the ability to visit. I wish I could visit, but I go to college on the East Coast thus it is tough for me to visit the college.

If I remember correctly, they stopped giving interviews a few months ago.

Has anyone gotten anything from Pomona yet? Any confirmation of application or anything?
I applied, and visited- although they stopped giving transfer interviews in February and it was their spring break week so I had an official tour of CMC and then spent a while just walking around the Pomona campus! But (as a tour guide at my current school ) I’d definitely recommend an official tour of Pomona, I think they’re really helpful.

I haven’t gotten anything from them either. Also visited and went on an official tour with the tour guides and everything (the week after their spring break, the day before Cesar Chavez day). Didn’t get a chance to sit in on classes though since all the classes I wanted to see were in the morning and I got there at like 10-11. But very glad I visited, though!

Does anyone know if they’ll release the decisions before May 15?

I doubt they will release it before May 15th as they probably want to see if any more seats open up.

ACCEPTED IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!! I was rejected last year out of high school, but now I’m in!!!

If you were rejected out of high school DEFINITELY reapply if Pomona is your top choice. My high school record was not enough to get me in, though I had a nice upward trend. This time around I put way, way more effort and heart into my application and managed to get much better grades and involved myself in a lot of extracurriculars, and I really think that’s what helped me get in. I’m still in shock sorry for double posting but hopefully if you’re reading this it can give you some hope!

@abstractions Congratulations! Can you please post your stats? Pomona is my dream school and I have not received any message from it now.

Sure not going to go into much detail but I had around a ~3.8 (or high 3.7 I don’t remember) UW GPA in high school and ~4.2 weighted and I have a 4.0 in college. 33 on the ACT & I did not send SAT or SAT IIs

@abstractions did you find out through mail or online?

@futuredoctor24 it came through the mail. USPS

Also accepted!! I wasn’t expecting to receive my decision just yet, and certainly not without any email correspondence or reminder beforehand. I just happened to check my mail box today and it was there. I for sure thought it was rejection because the envelope was small, but that magical first word: Congratulations. I definitely feel blessed to have been given such an opportunity! (Postmarked May 12)

@abstractions Did you receive an admissions package or anything in the mail? My envelope only had the acceptance letter in a regular-sized envelope. In the letter, they said that “enclosed with the admission package” was the financial aid award and the course credit evaluation. But it wasn’t in mine.

@TheEarlyBird yes I got a big envelope that included my aid package and transfer credit evaluation

Hmm. Maybe they sent the big envelope to my home address. I got a copy of the letter at my apartment in the city where I go to school. I asked my parents to keep an eye out at home. Hopefully, it arrived there.

I’m praying I found out sometime this week. Hopefully I get some good news after two rejections and a rough finals week.
