Ok so who hasn't gotten their aid?

**** i havent yet
and i filed it in feb

i called them and said they dont even have me on record...
long story short i messed up in typing the school code.

i turned in the correction on friday, man i dont know how much this cost me.

is there anychance im going to get any money before sept 27?

ric, was the actual aid you received the same as the amount in your preliminary award notif.?

no suh it was 1k less

TOPIC RES So who HAS NOT gotten their finan aid?

tieniscoolx, you still did not get your financial aid?

No, called em and they said the wait will be at most 3 weeks...

I don't have it yet...

^ Aren't you an upperclassmen?

Im a bit confuse about the part about ucsd grant aid and federal pell grant:
Here im only taking the two grants into consideration:

Is there a set/max amount of the each grant you can get? anyone knows the #?
In other words, Is there max of amount of ucsd grant and pell grant you can be awarded.
...cause im getting about 4k in ucsd grant and 4k in federal pell grant.
OR, everyone is going to get a different amount of aid according to their financial need ???

kitaro, i'm also getting 4k in ucsd grant and 4k in federal pell grant. some people are getting 7k in ucsd grant but these ppl get much less federal pell grant. so it differs for everyone.

a lot of people have said ucsd is generous in financial aid but i don't really think so...

i had an optional 1800 dollars i could take out from a plus loan, but if i just want to pay that 1800 dollars with a check or something and not take that loan out, how would i do it?

in my PAN they werent sure yet if i got cal grant A so i got like 4k in grants.....but then i got cal grant A and acepted it so they took my grants away = ( .

process is the same, especially if there are forms and verifications that need to be turned in.

UCSD is pretty generous with the financial aid packages. They're not going to give everyone full-ride scholarships, and 4k/yr is nearly 2/3 your tuition.

Who cares about tuiton, it's the bloody total yearly cost of 22,000 that's killing everyone

Well if all you're going to do is **** and moan about money, then you should re-think college. It's a voluntary thing, pal.

No, I'm just saying that 8 years of debt is not something I'm looking forward to

then pay it off before 8 years is up.

yea...i don't like debt either... i've estimated that i'll prob have about up to 35,000 in debts by the time i graduate. so i will probably go live with my parents after i graduate which will save me tons of money, and get a decent paying job while i'm there. So, while I am leeching off my parents, if I get a 55,000 a year job and I spend most of my earnings on repaying loans, then I could pay them all off probably in 3 to 4 years?....right? haha. i suck at math.
