<p>What’s the point of a thread where everyone pledges to something they would do anyways?</p>

<p>Well, it’s a bit of a CC tradition, and it gets people pumped early about admissions decisions :D</p>

<p>So that no matter what the decision is, you are bound by an unbreakable CC oath.</p>

<p>I personally don’t think these admissions results are helpful because there are so many other aspects that add up to the decision. Unless you post your essays, your letter of recs, and a video of your interview, basic statistics that one may or may not meet will not always equate to an admission/rejection.</p>

<p>I think it’s extremely helpful. It’s a good way to gauge what academic Harvard looks for, and also one can look for trends in extracurriculars and such.</p>

<p>@FatAmy (love the username by the way), It’s not like people are going to do every single thing an admitted person has done and expect to get in. Anyone who frequents CC should know that there is more to the admissions process than that. But, as beatles said, it’s about being able to gauge comparatively what kind of academics (SAT scores, GPA, etc.) are required and how involved typically students who do get in are. I have honestly found these admissions results to be quite helpful and I’m sure I don’t speak for myself.</p>

<p>The adcom I talked to told me she would tell me the news before the decision date so I guess it’s less than 19 days for me.</p>

<p>Actually, there are 16 days left because EA usually comes out on a Thursday, and they give you until Midnight Wednesday December 11 to update your email. So decisions are probably emailed on Thursday the 12th.</p>
