*OFFICIAL* January 28, 2006 SAT Thread

For the one about georgia, I put the guy moving and getting fired after a hard debate.

D) Was the studying for exam and it being postponed

How can you even determine which is? What's the criteria?

thank goodness. i put down the umbrella one out of sheer panic t hen changed it to the athelet/midseason one

@ Rinoa

I put the "athlete who quits in midseason" answer too.

The math experimental wasn't the one with the grid in answers on the first page or the one with 70000 and a%b as answers.

i put athlete too

Basically you want to find suffering adversity -> nothing in return.

I thought the whole moving to a distant state to be fired without warning sufficed.

It's C) Athlete makes good team but quits midseason.

Georgia had to work hard to get to where she is at, but ends up quitting.

@Lindsay2259

are you sure? i know for my test one of the math was the experimental....becaues you can't have 3 25-minute math sections

no, she wasn't fired, she quit...the athlete worked hard (as she did) and quit (as she did)

Oh the athlete quit? I thought he was traded... Oops.

I'm positive. I had the experimental CR section (3 25 minute CR) and both of those math ones, so neither of those can be the experimental.

Unless of course the SAT really changed things up this time.

How was it also II? That's not possible.

@slurpz : this is really important for me!

[section 10 must've been Writing, right?]

Was Section 2 or Section 3 the experimental section??

Yeah, my train of thought was basically Georgia had to work hard to get to where she was, but it was her own choice to go off and marry Joe, while the other options were either not by choice/didn't have to work to get there etc...

I think I had three 25 of CR too, but my memory is horrible. Because I think we had less time for one of the maths.

And section 10 was writing for me.

@IvyLeague

it is also II because

( x-1 o x+1 ) = (x-1)(x+1) + x+1 + x-1 = x^2 +2x -1
( x o x ) - 1 = x^2 + x + x -1 = x^2 + 2x - 1

so they are equal

it was also 1 because

( x o y ) = xy + x + y
( y o x ) = yx + y + x

but not III because

( x o y+z) = xy + xz + x + y + z
( x o y ) + ( x o z) = xy + x + y + xz + x + z

^there is an extra x in the second one

btw guys...the rapper question...the answer was trenchant

isn't Sect. 10 writing for everyone?

I think I put trenchant, simply because I knew it was a negative word

does anyone remember the number of farms from 1972 to 2002 math question??
