Official June 2012 SAT Talk & Countdown

@ Yankeesfanatic:

Nope. It happens. My June SAT scores last year came after the AP scores, but everyone I knew at my test center got their scores on time. The college board trolls.

I’ve heard also that if you increase your scores from one sitting to the next by three hundred points (I think…) or more, your report might be delayed.

Is is the same thing if go up 300 points from psat to sat?

I’m really scared for my score. Im hoping for a 1200 (or 1900 if you count the writing section), but well see about that. Im definitely taking it again in either october or november. What time are the scores available? I heard 5 am EST but i’m not sure.

^ it’s been posted multiple times in this thread, just scroll up. But yes it’s 5 am EST

Aah yank you’re waiting for it too! Good luck.

And no, I don’t believe that happens for PSAT and SAT, but I might be wrong.

I just want I know if I need to start worrying about my ACT scores or not <.<

Thanks retro, good luck to you too.

I’m gonna read a little bit, maybe watch a movie, then make it an early night. No use stressing or staying up until 5 am.

Go to bed early and then set a 5am alarm. that’s what I do. Works great.

What’s the point in setting an alarm for 5? Are you still in school and have to get up early anyway? If not, there’s no point. I’m just gonna go to sleep and wake up whenever. It’s not like it will feel like less time if you wake up earlier, because you’ll already be sleeping.

I get up, check them, and then go back to bed. It makes getting up better for me because if it was bad news, I’ve already heard it and had a little time to adjust. If it’s good news I’m just happy. I guess it’s just a weird thing for me.

To whoever said a certain score increase won’t get your scores delayed, oh believe me it does and it happened to me ;_;

Since my computer will most likely be occupied I guess I’ll hope I wake up at 5 to check

Just out of curiosity, did they tell you the delay was because of a large score increase? Or are you just assuming that’s the cause?

I was specifically told that was the reason.

I think we believe that. What we don’t believe is that the same thing will happen for a large deviation from one’s PSAT scores. The two tests are administered by entirely different organizations I believe.

I doubt the PSAT thing will happen, but I was saying it happens with the SATS and a handful of people I know on here said it happened to them, but I can’t give a specific number on if it was dozens or hundreds or what, this is the first time I ever heard of it happening.

Yeah, I mean, as annoying as it is it isn’t a particularly unreasonable thing to do, especially given how many people have tried to cheat on it in the past year.

how does holding back your score help them figure out whether or not you cheated?

^Gives them extra time to check things out.

who could they check it out with
