Official June SAT 2012 Thread!!!

This is the real deal for sure.

I got an experimental CR section. Not sure which it was. I thought the section with the passage about art and illusion was really difficult, hoping it was the experimental one. I can’t remember what the other 25m CR passages were about.

I didn’t think the math sections were very bad, though I had some issues with Q 8 of the 18q/25m section.

@sbh777, answer was 30 sqrt(3) mate

What was the methodology?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure the art and illusion passage was the experimental section. My CR sections were: section 4 25 qs, section 6 23 qs, section 7 (with the art/illusion) 24 qs. I’d never before seen a 25-minute CR section with a number of questions other than 24; I assume section 7 was the experimental because sections 4 and 6 would balance each other out in this case. Also, the art/illusion section had one long passage and two short individual passages, both of which also showed up on my other CR sections, whereas the other CR sections each had a passage type that didn’t show up elsewhere.

Sadly enough, that’s the one CR section that I’m confident I aced … haha. Oh well. Hoping for a generous curve. =)

guys on the last grid in question on the math sec, what did u get? it was something like: f(x)=sqrt(25x) and g(4x)= something. it was the last question. thanks

@Brady answer was k = 10 mate

what did you guys get for the question on the last writing section about lemur species and spotted hyenas?

@poseidon: I completely forgot. Hopefully someone can answer year question.

Hey I have a question about a math problem: there was this 3 overlapping triangle and no number and it said something about find: a+b+c+d+e+f or something like that… I never seen anything like that before.

Can you explain why k=10?

I guess I got that wrong.

Also if you used vertical angles, x+y+z = 180 so 3 other triangles = 180*3 -180

when do scores come out in 3 or 4 weeks?

They say after 20 days at least.

I think it was k=20, not 10

Y is it k=20?

it’s actually k=10
f(x)=sqrt(25x)
f(4x)=sqrt(100x)=10sqrt(x)
f(4x)=ksqrt(x)
hence, k=10…if i remember the question correctly
