***Official McGill Class of 2019 Decisions***

My decision has said “reviewed-decision pending” for 2-3 weeks now and all of my scores and requirements clearly exceed the minima…any idea what this means? How long does it usually take? And has anybody who had this decision heard back already? Thanks

@ironman234 Just because your grades exceed the minimum doesn’t guarantee you admission. They say that on the site. I am not sure why yours says decision pending, and I’m not sure if that is a waitlist or not.

Good Luck

**Decision:Accepted

Objective: Faculty of Engineering (Electrical/Computer Engineering) and Faculty of Science (Physics)

  • SAT I (breakdown): N/A
  • ACT: 28 (Eng: 27, Math: 28, Reading: 28, Science: 27)
  • SAT II: N/A
  • Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.66
  • Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 130/521

  • High school in Canada? (yes, no): Grade 9 & 10 yes, Grade 11 & 12 no (Moved to US)

I am considered a Canadian in my application because I have dual citizenship (Canada & US).
I honestly did not think I would get in at all because of my lower academic scores, but I think the reason they admitted me was for my strong background in French. I am also part of the French club and French Honor Society in my school!

For those of you wondering when I got my admission notification, I got the notification two days after I submitted my mid year report.

Hi @idmlac‌! I am also going to be in the Faculty of Science for Physics, and was wondering how we can also seek a double major through the engineering faculty? I’m looking at physics, and hopefully maybe Chemical Engineering.

Decision: accepted for both programs
Objective: Faculty of Engineering and Biology
I am a French student and got at least 16 as an average during my time in high school
Got my offers about 2 months ago

Has anyone admitted found out if they’ve gotten a one-year entrance scholarship yet?

Hi @chilliums‌ I’m really not sure about how double majoring works, I don’t really have an interest in it but I just wanted to indicate that I got into both programs! Sorry I wasn’t able to answer your question!

@idmlac‌ nah, it’s cool! I’m also looking forward to double majoring as well! Wondering if I was missing something haha.

@kgemini D2 found out tonight that she got the $3K non-renewable; it says her major entrance app is still pending. The scholarship had apparently been posted a couple of days ago, but she doesn’t check the site that frequently. Too many weeks of “further review required” on her application, I fear!

Got accepted (23 Jan) the day after I uploaded my predicted grades! I live in Switzerland and am Australian.

Hi everyone
I am from India and applied for Mechanical Engineering this year. I submitted my application on 24th December but still havent heard from them. My status remains ‘Ready For Review’. Is this normal? Or does this mean they are going to reject me? My stats are

SAT 1-2110 (they dont require it from me)
TOEFL - 115
10th grade CGPA - 10.0/10.0
11th grade marks - 93.8%
My school wont give predicted marks, so I gave them my pre board marks instead which are 95%

I am above their minimum requirements from Indian Applicants. So, should I just wait for a rejection now? Or will they give a decision soon?

Decision: Accepted

Objective: Biology

IB (place score in parenthesis): 44 (Biology HL, English literature HL, Economics HL, French SL, Chemistry SL, Math SL)

High school in Canada? : No

Hello everyone, I applied to McGill’s Faculty of Science (Physiology Major). I got accepted on the 4th of March, I did the International Baccalaureate in Europe ( I got 39 points). HL: Bio, Chem and Business&Management
SL: Maths, English, French. I would like to do medicine, do you guys think physiology is a good major?

Hey you guys!
Did anyone applying for architecture hear from McGill yet? My status has been: “Further Review Required” for ages now.
I saw on some forums in 2010 people talking about not having a reply yet until May. Don’t they know that most other universities need you to reply by May 1st? UGHHH

I was accepted into the faculty of arts already, but I still am waiting to hear about the music school (I applied for music composition). The music decision says “Ready for Review”, does anyone know when I’ll have it by? I know Schulich takes longer than the rest of the school but still am wondering…

I’m really stuck here wondering why I didn’t get in, when I have borderline acceptable grades for their standards and sent a letter of extenuating circumstances detailing medical reasons why my GPA isn’t as high as my ACT. Is there anything I can do to appeal my decision or talk to the undergrad admissions office to discuss this?

@313phant‌ I am no expert, but I believe there is an option to appeal a rejection to Mcgill. http://www.mcgill.ca/applying/sites/mcgill.ca.applying/files/recon_procedure_2015_eng_feb19.pdf
That is a link to a file explaining the process for appealing a rejection.

Good luck!

Just recieved my decision on Tuesday!
