mine’s only a 1410… my hopes are falling so hard right now…

I have a 1500 across the board, I think I may have been aming to high when I applied here…despite having some powerful rec’s and being a URM.

all the letters should be here soon! good luck everyone!!

Congrats to all those accepted! Hopefully you will all visit - it may positively change your mind if you are on the fence - there is something special here. And yes, the general breakdown is 25% legacy, 15-25% athletes, and then the regular group of applicants, but don’t worry, I wasn’t legacy, and only know a couple, so it is not like you have to be a legacy.

hawkswim… are you a swimmer also?? are you swimming in college?

yes, i was a swimmer in high school, but do not swim at the college level. However, I do work with the swim team - I work in the Sports Information Department so I do help run swim meets and such. If you have any questions, ask away … I love questions lol.

haha i currently swim and do triathlons and stuff but i have arthritis so I for sure won’t be able to swim at the college level. my friend was up there recently on a recruit trip though and two of the swimmers at notre dame used to swim on my club team so i know their younger siblings

Rejected haha post stats later. Not too sad as I have been looking into other schools but congrats all! 32 ACT 3.6 UW 4.0 W. I think my ecs and uw gpa killed me. Best of luck

[] Volunteer/Community service: Didn’t do much more than met my school’s requirements

[] Essays: I was very pleased with my essays. They were passionate and extremely intellectual, my college counselor worried that they were too intellectual actually. Commonapp essay was a pro-capitalism essay that I tied into my interest in studying business. ND personal essay was about admiration for the creative power of humanity.
[] Teacher Recommendation: I am sure they were excellent. One was written by my teacher adviser with whom I have taken 3 classes, earning a 5 on the AP exams for two of them. The other was written by another history teacher. I’ve taken 3 classes with him, also getting a 5 on one of the exams. I get the feeling that teachers like you more if you get them a 5 for their record.

[] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): College counselor thinks that the fact that I have taken every history class offered at my school is a hook, you can judge that for yourselves.
[/ul]Reflection[ul]
[] Strengths: Very strong in history/government, good test scores, excellent essays, did everything I could to demonstrate interest in business
[] Weaknesses: Community service not excellent, technically outside top 10% of class (6/57, but it’s not reported), didn’t really demonstrate interest in ND outside the essay
