Congratulations from the Indian Thread!

South Asians rock! :D

corrected: Dude, what are you saying? We’ve got 43 pages! You just can’t beat that :D

@Corrected… Remember Kid, the competition isn’t between you and him, Nepalese or Indian or between any other two factions. The actual competition is to better yourself, to be better than your previous self.

And don’t even dare to start me on that ‘Intellectual level’ thing… Though I must say, Indian Forum has much more intellectual topics on their threads. Yesterday, I myself posted on a thread regarding the educational degradation in South-East Asia…

I come in peace. Not looking for any “I’m better than you, you’re better than me” discussions.

Now you see, specific is one wise guy :)

@corrected You can’t be more right.

@corrected: Hehe, it’s fine, my Himalayan brother I think Nepalis are pretty cool. “Ke chha?” And there’s nothing wrong with a bit of advertisement :)

Room and board come to about $13k which is way too high for me and there will be unexpected costs. Vanderbilt isn’t called one of the most expensive US colleges for nothing ;)

Certainly! But Nepal’s got Everest
Yes, I did have a Nepali friend. Picked up a few phrases like “ke chha? theekai chha. ramrai chha?” I have never been to Nepal, but would love to at some point in my life :)

@TheEcnegilletni: Indians are very cool too.And hey, I am coming to India for a week. :)

And Best of Luck for all the other people who haven’t heard from the colleges yet!

Hey CORRECTED now you know why i said paying for ROOM and Board may lessen ur Visa Chances…they won’t trust that a Nepali can pay 13,000 $ per year to a college and trust me on this…

@ Corrected: Wait till I get the aid confirmation.
@ Sickrate : That depends! There are people who can pay full cost of attendance as well. I know few people who haven’t applied for financial aid at all, and those who are paying 20k per year!

@liberalartslover…yup I am going to williams.

well. Liberalartslover I hope I dont have to remind you that there is a lot of corruption going on in Nepal and people need a way to drain that money out…but again trust me they will have problems in Visa

Sickrate, you just became the dumbest person I have ever known. Yes offence!

Three acceptances to Northeastern from Chelsea from what I’ve heard. I cannot be sure though, but the source is pretty trustworthy. Idk about financial aid but man am I kicking myself for not applying there. Haha. Congrats to all the acceptances btw! Eases the wait for us and converts whatever doubts we had to rays of hope. I wish everyone gets into a good college or another! :)

Northeastern at most gives 10-20K of aid , so I doubt these acceptances will be of any use!!

Don’t be so sardonic, Sickrate. At least they proved something to themselves and the people around them; I would hardly call that no use. In fact, I would be happier with multiple acceptances with less aid than with just a single full ride. I just hope they do get into a college willing to provide reasonable aid.

^what did they prove to themselves?
Why there is a need to prove your worth to someone else?

“I would be happier with multiple acceptances with less aid than with just a single full ride.” I bet you wouldn’t be happy, God forbid, if you get yourself in such position.

“I just hope they do get into a college willing to provide reasonable aid.” , we all hope so, including Sickrate.
