I don’t think I’ll survive the RD round with my GPA being so low, so I guess that’s it for me. NU: I felt like I should have said more but it was hard with 300 words, but still pretty strong, about how I visited Northwestern as a little kid and ended up falling in love with its theatre program a decade later.
Teacher Recommendation: I actually got to read one of them and it was great, I’m not sure about the other but it’s from a teacher who likes me a lot.
Counselor Rec: Not sure?
Additional Rec: From my drama teacher/director, and I’m not completely sure but it does mention each role I’ve played and the shows I’ve been involved in and my department is pretty reputable.
Interview: Pretty good! We talked for nearly two hours and she gave me resources and good feedback about my accomplishments.
Other: I’m active on Northwestern’s social media, I don’t know if that had any impact on my decision but I made sure to keep my accounts clean and like all of NU’s posts.

Reflection: I was a pretty strong applicant, but I was really scared someone would knock me out of the park re: theatre related ECs but it doesn’t matter now
Strengths: Essays, GPA, course rigor/senior schedule, ECs
Weaknesses: Not having a ton of theatre on my CA, subject tests, test scores were good but could have been higher, AP scores
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I really showed how much I loved the school in my app and interview, and I’ve been gearing my scores/GPA toward NU for half of my high school career, so hard work pays off?
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Just to a state school with a decent theatre program, I was going to audition for musical theatre had I gotten rejected.
General Comments: I’M SO HAPPY!! Northwestern has been my dream school for the past two years and I can’t believe this is real life. Go ‘Cats!!</p>
