[</em>] Job/Work Experience: Worked since freshman year in hotel management/customer service at a historic hotel in my town. About 8-12 hours every weekend doing coat check, help setting up for weddings and banquets, bringing bags up to rooms, and even jumping into the kitchen sometimes when things get extremely busy.
[<em>] Volunteer/Community service: Tons of volunteer work at my local hospital including teaching disabled children how to swim, tutoring, and helping at the day care. Worked at a clinic for elderly people with severe dementia.

[</em>] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Honestly I was surprised, but you can’t ever know unless you apply. The best advice I can give is ** SHOW INTEREST. ** Initially, I was torn between Chemistry or Chemical Engineering so I exchanged a few emails back and forth with an admissions counselor. She was extremely helpful, and it might have helped in the long run. Go visit the campus, do a tour, attend meetings, talk to the admissions counselors, all of these things can help! With the percent admitted dropping every year, a little bit of help can go a long way. [/ul]</p>
