Official November SAT 2012 Thread

what was the answer to the last math problem with the celsius, you had to find the find the equation???

@TheShowGoesOn. I think it was 8/3.

first trip was 1.5 hours
secnod trip was 4 hours

1.5/4

for the question a^2+b^2=2

sqrt(2) was the answer right

@ihatesatmat i think it was A. something like 20+(m/300)(-2.5)

spate is overwhelming, sudden downpour…

@robby no the answer was 2 because u cant have 4+ a postive answer equal to 0

no. 2 was the answer.

2 squared = 4…if you square B…it will always be positive. 4 + another positive number is more than 2.

and brisk means quick and active while flag usually means to slow down

@Ihatesat, i put a, because plugging an arbitrary number like 1 in for m (the distance above baseline) produced a small difference in celcius, which decreased from the baseline temp to like 19.xxx

y divide by 300 not times by 300

for the Mark Twain/fingerprint CR, does anybody remember a question about why the author of Passage 1 used the quote? the choices were something like, reveal the source of a common misconception, defend the legitimacy of a widely criticized practice, elaborate on a belief that remains pervasive…

Anyone remember getting 18 for one where you had to manipulate an equation? It asked for 2a+5b.

@robby25 it was (a)

@feedback411 yes, I got 18

@Bmfbham, I chose elaborate on a belief that is pervasive.

for the reading section, did you guys get to introduce an arcane concept? for the one where engineers and bridges

Feedback. It was indeed 18.

can someone recall the last 2 problems on the grid in and how to get the asnwer

Bfbfham and feedback411, y’all are right about the math ones. I got 18 and 2, too.

@robby25 what passage was that?
