Another early start to discuss, view, arrange, and chance (TRANSFER) portfolios that will be turned in for the fall of 2012. This thread is for both sophomore and junior transfer applicants. We also welcome thoughts and opinions from past successful transfer students.
.......so post any question or post any portfolios that you want people to comment on and so forth. ...........this thread accepts applicants to all schools within NYU, ( with major emphasis on CAS AND STERN.

Moving, this belongs on the Transfer Students forum.

This seems way too early. Decisions for fall 2011 haven’t even been released. Additionally, I would advise against the whole chance template. Instead of a valuable resource for information, you’ll end up with an entire thread of people asking for their chances. Nobody knows. We are not qualified to answer such questions. Look at the current NYU and USC thread to develop an overall feeling for how the thread should look

its on the transfer student fourm mate

the chance part of this thread is just a small part…and i posted this thread way to early because it will help people discuss the classes that needs to be taken and all that presequite stuff…

you are the only person who thinks its too early…its been 23 hours and i have 80 plus hits already…

Make that two people that think it’s too early. Like Mitch already said, we still have over a month to wait until we gout OUR admission decisions for 2011. Other than me, the only three people who have posted in this thread are a mod who moved it, Mitch telling you it was too early and the OP.

I get my admissions decision in about 2 weeks from SCPS! Hoping for the best! The recommended deadline for the McGhee division is July 1st so hopefully my April 8th turn in date will be a bit of an advantage for me as like an “early action”.

My CGPA is a 3.3 (their minimum recommendation is 3.0), have a really strong personal statement (proof read by 5 graduate English students and 2 professors), 2 strong teacher recommendations (had a great relationship with them and received As in their classes), and pretty good resume (had relevant work and professional experiences), and umm… I’m not requesting financial aid.

Hey everyone,
I am an undergrad student from San Francisco State, I am a first-sem freshman student, but planning to transfer next Fall (2012). SO now I have to prepare for ACT test, I plan to take the exam in Oct.
Any thoughts?

Personally, I guess it’s not too early to have this post. As a film student, I think it would be great because you have a year to prepare for portfolio. Hope to get to know more people.

so who is going to be a freshman this fall 2011…and what all classes are you going to take

Hey can anybody chance me?

I have months before I send in my application but I’m already strung out.

I’m a Temple student majoring in Journalism and I have a 3.76 GPA. I’m hoping to transfer to NYU’s CAS this spring as a junior.

My SAT’s are on my side - 2140. (670 Math, 750 Reading, 720 Writing).

I’m also interning for Philadelphia Weekly this summer (a respected paper - think Philly’s version of ‘Village Voice’) and I have a long-term position as the “College Blogger” for ADDitude magazine, where I share my experiences as a college student suffering from ADHD with viewers. My blog has been been showcased in the magazine’s print edition and my posts are chosen as “Top Picks” and presented front and center on the site’s homepage.

There are only two major drawbacks I can think of. The most significant one is that I’ve already transferred once before - as a freshmen I switched from U Pitt to Temple. My GPA in Pitt was blah, but not atrocious - 3.3ish. I left because I was having some serious adjustment issues - one’s that I’ve since overcome - and I needed to spend some time closer to home, hence Temple. (I’ve since spent a whole academic year at Temple, and averaged 3.76).

The other drawback is High School - 3.4 GPA unweighted, 4.2 weighted.

Anyways, hopefully my SAT, GPA, and extra curricula can make up for these shortcomings. Can anybody give me an honest estimate of my chances?
