Official Post-test October Sat Ii Biology Thread

What do you think the curve will be?

problem with blood question is
Gravity is pushing downward. so that means our heart (left ventricle) has to pump against gravity to bring that blood from our feet back up to our heart.

the answer i thought was the voluntarily contraction of veins
choices were:
a) reclining or lying down
b) contraction of muscles
c) contraction of diaphragm
d) voluntary contraction of vein
e) veins have one way valves

curve will depend since i think this test was very similar to june 2004 satii bio

what was that prokaryote question on DO aerobic repsiration (beginning life?)

for the major killer i got small pox??

no that was malaria. small pox is just about wiped out.

malaria was both caused by the protist and the major killer.

smallpox was gone from the causative agent cuz it was only found in 2 government areas.

the bacteria treated by antibiotics was strep throat.

polio is a virus
hemophilia is a recessive sex linked hereditary blood disorder

What about that question where the gene is carried on the Y chromosome?

There was also one that asked what would need to happen for a mutation to be significant in evolutionary terms.

For that Jonas Salk vaccine for small pox and cow pox was it E?

E was i believe Smallpox and cowpox had similiarities and that cowpox would trigger the immune system to act against smallpox?

yes, that's what I put.

Gene that's carred on Y chromosome i said would affect all males. Since all males have the Y chromosome no matter what. So if that gene was affected, then that means all offspring males' would inherit that disease.

That mutation problem was hard o_O i wasn't sure but the answer choices were
a) diploid
b) in the gametes
c) in the entire population
d) ?? [forgot]
e) ?? [forgot]

yeah the flower reproduction was about a male re organ going into an ovule ..that is like sexual repro and the answer since is was an except question

What do you think the most lenient curve possible will be?

no idea lol.
i just hope i do really good on it :(

I think I did very well!!! :) :) :) and it has been 2 years since AP bio and I took it cold..the E of course cuz the M part is harder

was it 36 atoms?
what did ya put for the intermediate ledg.e I put the cliff elevation answer cuz how could you know about the ledge?

I hope ...ha...PRAY that I get a 750 ..i think you can miss like 7 and get that

was the grasshopper reproductive organ in the back or middle?

I put back...not sure...

Btw, apfreak, are you sure that 7 wrong is a 750...I have about 7 wrong so far and I was thinking of cancelling....

I put 72 atoms...i don't know cuz the equation was for a revised photosynthesis:

6CO(2) + 6H(2)O = C(6)H(12)O(6) + 6O(2)

6 C + 12 O + 12 H + 6 O + 6 C + 12 C + 6 O + 12 O =
18 + 18+ 18 + 18 =
36 + 36 = 72

For the cliff edge i think i left it blank, but i would put the Red birds went higher and the black went lower since that was the only ledge there.

remmeber Red like the High Narrow
Black liked the low Thick

I think....

was the grasshopper reproductive organ in the back or middle?

Well grasshopper reproductive organs i think are in the back I put thorax though :(

I missed that Photosynthesis gets its oxygen from Water instead of Carbon Dioxide :(
