This has reached a new level of desperation lol
@tina23 no problem! Trust me I’d want someone to reassure me too
@caligirl97111 my stats are not horrible but after looking through the RD results thread from last year, I realized how low my scores/GPA are in comparison. Congrats on your safeties and good luck with your remaining decisions!
ahh I’m gonna go back to binge-watching Friends. good luck guys and see you tomorrow!
and thanks @ThatGirlCoder good luck to you too!
Orrrr could the digits be like, location? (Not gender since there’s 3 lol)
We don’t know any correlation but 3 cases “29” “30” “31” just seems like somethings not right.
The odds of randomly generally number being exactly 3 cases is pretty low.
Anyone also studying CS in here? Could the numbers be some sort of code?
Lol no we’re not doing this out of desperation, I just think this whole thing may be pretty interesting. I’ve honestly accepted the fact that I will most likely be rejected.
In any case, can people tomorrow post their number and their decision? It could potentially be an amazing theory.
That was a wild ride, guys.
Digits could be an alphabetical type of thing, i.e. 29=a-i 30=j-r etc
I was accepted ED and have 30, but as others have said it’s probably meaningless. More likely has to do with your application number or something.
30 digits.
35, 3.95
Just wanted to throw this out there…my stats are not “amazing” by a lot of people’s standards. But admissions committees truly see more than numbers. I’ve worked hard the last 4 years just like all of you, and whether or not some people in a room happen to grant you admission to one school out of thousands, that does NOT take away from that work OR have anything to do with your self worth. I know many people say this and it’s kind of like a, “yeah whatever” for most of us, but it is so true. We will all do great things whether that’s at Vanderbilt or not. Now everyone go to sleep lol.
30 digs
2390, 3.7 UW
Ok so I think a problem is that there are so many 30s on here compared to 29s and 31s, probability I think is that 30 can’t be accept maybe.
@PartyNextDoor I think it is possible that so many people here could be accepted because CC users aren’t representative of the entire application pool…they tend to be overachievers (in a good way!) so many could be accepted.
Do you think Vanderbilt will give me a chance?
3.4 weighted GPA
SAT-1500/2400
I took 10 AP Classes All in total
I am a black male from the hood, who watched his cousin get shot by gang members, and has had to take care of a mom who had a stroke. I am extremely underprivileged, but I have some very awesome extra curricular activities. I am president of my school’s debate team, and I’ve had to be the coach and president because our school couldn’t afford a coach. I am ranked as the best teenage orator in my city, and one of the top 80 orators in the nation. I started a tutoring program for black students at my school, because blacks were performing way lower than other ethnic groups. And because of that program, all of the failing black students who participated in the program ended up passing. I interned for a state senator, and when interning for him I hosted a debate tournament for inner-city youth. In addition, I wrote a bill called AB 672 which gives assistance to prisoners who are wrongfully convicted. The bill that I wrote was actually voted by the California State senate and signed by the state governor, and now the bill I wrote is now in effect. I also have won several awards for Mock Trial, Academic Decathlon, and I am a columnist for a local newspaper. I also have stopped a lot of peers in my neighborhood from joining gangs and getting addicted to drugs. My grades are low, but I’ve done amazing things and my interviewer loved me. Do you think that they’ll look past my low gpa and give me a chance?
No one knows exactly but CC users are generally on the top of all applicant pools
Yeah I just went through and tallied the counts and a majority are 30s. Not a majority of the people from this thread are going to get in regardless of cc being overachievers. The acceptance rate could be a little higher like 20% instead of 10% but it isn’t gonna be 60% lol
If we determine that there actually is a correlation tomorrow, then the person who brought this entire thing up deserves an award ^:)^
@PartyNextDoor they deserve to get into vandy :))
I have 27 uh oh
