Other Factors:
A girl from my school already signed with them for track (1220 SAT, lower rank than me, state champion also). I guess they didn't want two athletes from the same school. Also, my mid-year grades were terrible, failing classes and whatnot. I wasn't expecting to get in, nor would I have attended if accepted, it was one of those places I applied to because my parents wanted me to.

manderz1, I'm from Irvine. I was actually somewhat surprised I got my letter today. I was thinking for sure it would be Monday. I got my FinAid stuff today, and I got nothing. Not a penny. :( It's a little bit disconcerting (well, a lot... my mom was like, "well that's nice you got in, but how do they expect us to pay?"), but I suppose if I end up deciding GT is for me, I'll find a way to pay.

Sounds to me if you're not black or hispanic, you're pretty much screwed if you don't have a 1500+, etc. Unless you get lucky.

What ****es me off the most is that while I'm not black or hispanic, I am of a minority group -- a minority group that's even more rare than blacks or hispanics -- and I got rejected. That and I have better stats than every single one of the "minority" applicants here who posted their acceptances. UGHHHHHH.

I'm not sure if Asian is considered URM or not. I think being Chinese might work against you in some cases, but being from Singapore might help... that and being an international student... but I'm really not 100% sure about this, someone else might know better. I think it varies with schools, and as for Georgetown, I'm uncertain....
